Anthony Collins (American Football)
Anthony Collins (born November 2, 1985) is a former American football Tackle (gridiron football position), tackle. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Kansas and was a member of the 2008 Orange Bowl championship team. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Early years Collins played high school football at Beaumont Independent School District, Central High School in Beaumont, Texas. College career Collins committed to the University of Kansas out of high school. He redshirted his freshman year. During the Kansas Jayhawks football, Jayhawks 2007 Kansas Jayhawks football team, 2007 season, his redshirt junior year, he helped lead the Jayhawks to their first and only Bowl Championship Series, BCS Bowl victory in the 2008 Orange Bowl. Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown. Aqib Talib (born February 13, 1986) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at the University of Kansas, where he received consensus All-American honors, and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Demar Dotson (born October 11, 1985) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2009. Left Guard
In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center and the tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. 2008 NFL Draft
The 2008 NFL Draft was the 73rd annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 26 and April 27, 2008. For the 29th consecutive year, ESPN televised the draft; the NFL Network also broadcast the event, its third year doing so. Of the 252 selections, 220 were regular selections in rounds one through seven, and 32 were compensatory selections, distributed among rounds three through seven. As of the end of the 2018 season, 27 players have been selected to the Pro Bowl. For the first time since the common draft began, no wide receiver was selected in the first round.
