''Anthology'' is a compilation album by country pop singer Juice Newton. It was originally released by Renaissance Records on . The album covers her career from 1975 to 1989 and features 19 songs taken from her albums ''Juice Newton & Silver Spur'', '' Juice'', ''Quiet Lies'', ''Can't Wait All Night'', '' Old Flame'', ''Emotion'', and ''Ain't Gonna Cry''. However, it includes the 1975 take of "The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)" from the first RCA album, not the 1981 hit version from ''Juice''. Judith Kay "Juice" Newton (born February 18, 1952) is an American pop and country singer, songwriter, and musician. Newton has received five Grammy Award nominations in the Pop and Country Best Female Vocalist categorieswinning once in 1983as well as an ACM Award for Top New Female Artist and two consecutive ''Billboard'' Female Album Artist of the Year awards. Otha Young (a.k.a. Robert Otha Young) (May 10, 1943 – August 6, 2009) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and the longtime musical partner of country-pop artist Juice Newton. Otha was born on May 10, 1943 in Tulare, Tulare County, California. In the early 1970s, Young and Newton began performing together and formed the band Juice Newton and Silver Spur in Los Gatos, California. They headlined at Mountain Charlie's in Los Gatos and other steak & lobster joints around the San Francisco Bay Area, including the Rusty Pelican in Oakland. Later they decided to make a career move by playing the Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach. By 1978, the band evolved into Newton's solo act, with Young writing, playing and producing for Newton regularly until his death, although other artists recorded Young's songs as well. David William Edmunds (born 15 April 1944) is a Welsh singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer. Although he is mainly associated with pub rock and new wave, having many hits in the 1970s and early 1980s, his natural leaning has always been towards 1950s-style rock and roll and rockabilly. Merrilee Rush ( Gunst; January 26, 1944) is an American singer, best known for her recording of the song "Angel of the Morning", a top-10 hit which earned her a Grammy nomination for female vocalist of the year in 1968. Early life and career Rush was born in Seattle, Washington to Reuben and Edith Gunst. Her father was a home-builder. She grew up in north Seattle, and studied classical piano from a young age.
