Croatian (; ' ) is the standardized variety of the Serbo-Croatian pluricentric language used by Croats, principally in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbian province of Vojvodina, and other neighboring countries. Ante Marković
Ante Marković (; 25 November 1924 – 28 November 2011) was a Croatian and Yugoslav politician, businessman and engineer. Marković is most notable for having served as the last prime minister of SFR Yugoslavia. Early life Marković, was a Bosnian Croat, born in Konjic, then a part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, presently in Bosnia and Herzegovina to a poor peasant family. In 1943 he joined the Communist Party of Yugoslavia and fought with the Yugoslav Partisans in World War II. He received a degree in electrical engineering from the Electrotechnical Department of the Technical Faculty of the University of Zagreb in 1954. He remained in Zagreb, where he was a director of Rade Končar Industrial Works from 1961 to 1984. Antun "Ante" Kovačić (June 6, 1854 – March 10, 1889) was a Croatian writer who is best known for his magnum opus work '' U registraturi''. Biography Early life Born to a family of Croatian peasants in Hrvatsko Zagorje, Kovačić made his way through law school to become an attorney. He was born in Celine Goričke, a village near Marija Gorica. His parents were Ana Vugrinec and Ivan Kovačić (1826–1906). They were married in Marija Gorica. Ivan was also called Janko and dreamed that Ante would become a priest. In 1857, Ante and his parents went to Oplaznik. Later life Kovačić began to write in 1875. Ante Kovacevic (born 13 June 1974 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) is an Australian retired professional football (soccer) player who was the Director of Football at Adelaide United FC. Biography Ante Kovacevic started off his senior career at St Albans Dinamo in '92, the club at which he played as a junior for some time. Ante Jelavić (born 21 August 1963) is a Bosnian Croat politician who served as the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1999 to 2000. Ante Jazić (born February 26, 1976) is a Canadian retired soccer player. Club career Youth Growing up in Bedford, Jazić started his soccer career as a youth player for Scotia Soccer Club. Ante Gotovina (born 12 October 1955) is a Croatian retired lieutenant general and former French senior corporal who served in the Croatian War for Independence. He is noted for his primary role in the 1995 Operation Storm. In 2001, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) indicted him on war crimes and crimes against humanity charges in connection with that operation and its aftermath. Ante Erceg (born 12 December 1989) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Croatian Football League club Istra 1961.
