Answer Me This
''Answer Me This!'' was a comedy podcast by Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann made between 2007 and 2021 in which they answered questions submitted by the general public. It was one of the first independent British podcasts to gain success, and led to both Zaltzman and Mann establishing careers as professional podcasters. Initially produced weekly, the podcast became fortnightly in January 2014 and then monthly in December 2016. The series ended with its 400th and final episode on 5th August 2021. ''Answer Me This!'' was nominated for Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2009, 2010, and 2011, in the category "Best Internet Programme"; in 2010, the podcast won the silver award and in 2011, it won the gold award. In 2021 the podcast received a special ''Gold Award'' from the British Podcast Awards, honouring its status in the development of British podcasting. Helen Zaltzman
Helen Zaltzman is an English podcaster, broadcaster and writer. She produces the linguistics podcast ''The Allusionist'', the entertainment podcast ''Answer Me This!'', and the ''Veronica Mars'' recap podcast ''Veronica Mars Investigations''. Career ''Answer Me This!'' Zaltzman began the comedy podcast ''Answer Me This!'' with Olly Mann in 2007. The duo met in 2000 studying at St Catherine's College, Oxford. The podcast began in Zaltzman's living room in Crystal Palace, London, with assistance from Martin Austwick (a.k.a. "Martin the Sound Man"). In 2009, Zaltzman and Mann made history by being the first podcasters to be given their own national show on BBC Radio 5 Live, ''Web 2009 with Helen and Olly''. St Catherine's College, Oxford
St Catherine's College (colloquially called St Catz or Catz) is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford and is the newest college admitting both undergraduate and graduate students. Tracing its roots back to 1868 (although the college itself was opened in 1962), it has 528 undergraduate students, 385 graduate students and 37 visiting students as of December 2020, making it the largest college by undergraduate membership in the University of Oxford (Kellogg College, Oxford, a graduate-only college, has 1,137 students; St. Catherine's has 950). In 1974, it was also one of the first men's colleges to admit women. The college developed out of the university's Delegacy for Unattached Students, and was founded in 1962 by the historian Alan Bullock, who became the first master of the college, and later vice-chancellor of the university. ''The Guardian'' is a British daily newspaper. It was founded in 1821 as ''The Manchester Guardian'', and changed its name in 1959. Jay Foreman (born 4 October 1984) is an English YouTuber, singer-songwriter, and comedian. Early life and education Foreman was born on 4 October 1984. He was raised in a Jewish household in Stanmore, London, with his brother and sister. His brother Darren is beatboxer and musician Beardyman. Martin White is an English musician, comedian and animator. As well as performing solo with an accordion around the London comedy circuit, White also fronts the Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra and the Karaoke Circus live bands. Tom Price (born 12 July 1980 in Hereford) is a British actor, voice-over artist, radio presenter and stand-up comedian originally from Monmouth, Wales. Holly Dione Walsh (born 8 November 1980) is an English comedian and comedy writer. Early life The daughter of an Anglican vicar, Walsh attended Christ's Hospital School, before going on to read History of Art at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, which she described as 'the most boring three years of my life". After graduating she worked in various small art galleries in East London.
