''Answer That and Stay Fashionable'' is the debut studio album by American punk rock band AFI. It was originally released on July 4, 1995, through Wingnut Records and rereleased on April 22, 1997, through Nitro Records. Background ''Answer That and Stay Fashionable'' was recorded in Hayward, California, at Art of Ears, the studio of Andy Ernst, in 1995. The album was produced by AFI, along with Doug Sangalang, Tim Armstrong and Brett Reed. It was recorded in under a week. All of the tracks except "Open Your Eyes" are copyrighted to Anthems for Insubordinates. The album originally included a hidden track, a cover of The Police's "Man in a Suitcase", which is absent on the rerelease. In its place is a cover of The Circus Tents' "Open Your Eyes", originally released with an alternate mix on the '' Fly in the Ointment'' EP in 1995. AFI (band)
AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. Since 1998, it consists of lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer and backing vocalist Adam Carson, bassist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Jade Puget. Havok and Carson are the sole remaining original members. Originally a hardcore punk band, they have since delved into many genres, starting with horror punk and following through post-hardcore and emo into alternative rock and gothic rock. The Police
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For most of their history the line-up consisted of primary songwriter Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums, percussion). Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (born 2 October 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician and actor. Adam Carson
Adam Alexander Carson (born February 5, 1975) is the drummer of the alternative rock band AFI (band), AFI. He and Davey Havok are the two original members left in the lineup. Carson also filled in as drummer for the psychobilly band Tiger Army. His drumming can be found on Tiger Army's ''Early Years EP'' as well as their debut album ''Tiger Army (album), Tiger Army''. Geoff Kresge
Geoff Kresge is a songwriter, guitarist, bassist, and record producer. He played with the punk rock/horror punk band AFI for most of their early career, from 1992 through 1997, and co-wrote the majority of their early material alongside frontman Davey Havok. During an AFI hiatus in 1993, he briefly moved to New York to join street punk band Blanks 77. He later went on to play with Canadian horror rock group The Forbidden Dimension and also a high-energy rock band, The Daggers, before subsequently joining the psychobilly band Tiger Army. Though he played an electric bass in his previous bands, for Tiger Army he chose an upright bass. Career Kresge joined Tiger Army in 1999 just as the band became a full-time touring band, hitting the road in support of their debut album. Bad News are a fictional English heavy metal band created for the Channel 4 television series '' The Comic Strip Presents...''. ''Fly in the Ointment'' is the third extended play released by AFI. It was released on the March 31, 1995 on Wedge Records. Tracks 1–3 were re-recorded for '' Very Proud of Ya'', and "Open Your Eyes" is on the re-release of '' Answer That and Stay Fashionable'' but with different vocal tracks and mix.
