''Another Man's Shoes'' is a 1922 American comedy film directed by Jack Conway and written by Victor Bridges, Raymond L. Schrock, and Arthur F. Statter. It is based on the 1913 novel '' Another Man's Shoes'' by Victor Bridges. The film stars Herbert Rawlinson, Barbara Bedford, Una Trevelyn, Nick De Ruiz, Josef Swickard, and Jean De Briac. The film was released on November 6, 1922, by Universal Film Manufacturing Company. Jack Conway (filmmaker)
Hugh Ryan "Jack" Conway (July 17, 1887 – October 11, 1952) was an American film director and film producer, as well as an actor of many films in the first half of the 20th century. Biography He was born as Hugh Ryan Conway, on July 17, 1887, in Graceville, Minnesota, USA. Conway started out as an actor, joining a repertory theater group straight out of high school. He then moved into films, and in 1911, became a member of D.W. Griffith's stock company, appearing primarily in Westerns. Four years later, he made his mark as a director and gained valuable experience at Universal (1916–17 and 1921–23), before moving on to MGM in 1925. Lillian Langdon (November 25, 1860 – February 8, 1943) was an American film actress of the silent era. She appeared in more than 80 films between 1912 and 1928. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Langdon was a descendant of Montgomery Pike, discoverer of Pike's Peak, and Jasper Crane, founder of Newark. She acted on stage before she began her career in films. In private life, she was known as Lillie H. Bolles. She died at her home in Santa Monica, California, aged 82. Nelson McDowell (August 14, 1870 – November 3, 1947) was an American actor. He appeared in more than 170 films between 1917 and 1945. McDowell was born in Greenville, Missouri. His parents were N. B. McDowell and Anne Hampton. He attended Leadville (Colorado) High School and Normal College in Freemont, Nebraska, before earning A.B. and D.D.S. degrees from Northwestern University in Chicago. Prior to embarking on a theatrical career, McDowell had a career in dentistry. In 1901, he was appointed professor of orthodontics at the University of Illinois. In 1902, McDowell acted on stage in Chicago and in Lincoln, Nebraska. His film debut came in 1910 with Biograph. McDowell died in Hollywood, California after he shot himself.
