Annabelle Williams
Annabelle Williams, (born 21 July 1988) is a Paralympic swimming competitor from Australia. She has a congenital limb deficiency. She appeared in ''Mad Max 4''. Representing Australia, she has won a gold medal at the 2012 London Paralympic Games in the 4 × 100 m medley relay, a bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in the Women's 100m Butterfly S9. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, she earned a silver medal in the Women's 50m Freestyle S9 and a bronze in the Women's 100m Multi Disability Freestyle. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, she earned a silver in the Women's 50m Freestyle S9 event. Personal Annabelle Josephine Williams was born on 21 July 1988 in Sydney, New South Wales. Annie Williams (suffragette)
Annie Williams (c. 1860–1943) was a British suffragette, organiser for the Women's Social and Political Union, imprisoned twice and awarded a Hunger Strike Medal. She was involved in a same-sex partnership with fellow activist, Lettice Floyd, but not allowed to write to her in prison. Life Annie Williams, described as Cornish, taught in local authority schools, becoming a headmistress at Crantock Public Elementary School in Newquay, before joining the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) in 1907. In 1908, Williams spent her school summer break working for the organisation in Bristol and met Lettice Floyd. At the start of 1908 school term, Williams returned to teaching in Cornwall, but attended a WSPU 'At Home' gathering in Plymouth in November. On 14 May 1909, Williams had a poem in '' Votes for Women''. At the end of that semester she stopped teaching and became a full-time WSPU organiser. Annie Williams (born 1942) is a watercolour artist who won the 2009 Turner Watercolour Award. Biography Born in London, the daughter of artist Ivor Williams and Elizabeth Pocock, Williams grew up in Wales and trained and worked as a nurse before studying Fine Art at City and Guilds from 1966 to 1969. Her later work has been almost entirely still-life. She enjoys playing with shapes, pattern and colour, mixing the familiar with some abstraction, and precision with suggestion. Her foregrounds are a few simple objects, usually pots, and backgrounds are created from textiles or old newspaper cuttings, and even some unfinished paintings as a starting point. She has had one-woman shows at the Baker Tilly Gallery, Grape Lane Gallery and University of Warwick.
