Anik Jean
Anik Jean (born April 11, 1977) is a Canadian pop and rock singer, actress, director, and screenwriter. She is most noted for her 2005 album ''Le Trashy Saloon'', which was a shortlisted Juno Award finalist for Francophone Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2006. Career From a young age, Anik Jean has been drawn to performing. Attending a David Bowie concert with her mother when she was 11 years old, Anik decided she wanted to be a singer-songwriter. She learned how to play guitar and piano and embarked on a trip that would take her from her native Gaspésie to Los Angeles before eventually returning to Montreal. In the spring of 2005, her first single, "Je suis partie"'','' cracked the Top 5 on the radio charts in Quebec, which laid the groundwork for the release of her debut album ''Le Trashy Saloon'' in August of that same year. Robert Smith (musician)
Robert James Smith (born 21 April 1959) is an English musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, primary songwriter, and only continuous member of the rock band the Cure, which he co-founded in 1978. He was also the lead guitarist for the band Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1982 to 1984, and was part of the short-lived group the Glove in 1983. Smith is known for his guitar-playing style, distinctive voice, and fashion sense, with the lattera pale complexion, smeared red lipstick, black eye-liner, a dishevelled nest of wiry black hair, and all-black clothesbeing highly influential on the goth subculture that rose to prominence in the 1980s. Bonaventure, Quebec
Bonaventure is a town on the Gaspé Peninsula in the Bonaventure Regional County Municipality of Quebec. It is located on Baie des Chaleurs near the mouth of the Bonaventure River. The town is situated on Route 132 between Saint-Siméon and New Carlisle. The Quebec Acadian Museum (Musée Acadien du Québec) is located in the town. The town was named after the Italian saint Bonaventure. History The first permanent European settlement of Bonaventure was in 1760 by Acadian refugees who had successfully avoided the expulsion of Acadians that had begun in 1755. Les Rita Mitsouko
Les Rita Mitsouko (, translation: ''The Rita Mitsukos'') were a French pop rock group formed by Fred Chichin and Catherine Ringer. The duo first performed as Rita Mitsouko at Gibus Club in Paris in 1980. They went on to become one of the most acclaimed musical acts in France. "Marcia Baila", their debut single produced by Conny Plank, went to number 2 in the French singles chart in 1984. They then started a collaboration with producer Tony Visconti on two albums: ''the No Comprendo'' and ''Marc & Robert''. "Singing in the Shower", sung as a duet with Sparks, was a commercial success in France and was then heavily played on US dance radio stations in 1988. Francis Leclerc (born 1971 in Quebec City) is a Canadians, Canadian film director, film and television director, screenwriter and film editor. He is the son of Félix Leclerc. Since 1995 he has worked in the Quebec film industry, directing music videos for many well-known Quebec artists. He has directed more than 20 short and medium-length films, including a television adaptation of Robert Lepage’s ''Les Sept branches de la rivière Ota''. The Cure
The Cure are an English rock band formed in 1978 in Crawley, West Sussex. Gail Ann Dorsey (born November 20, 1962) is an American musician. With a long career as a session musician mainly on bass guitar, she is perhaps best known for her lengthy residency in David Bowie's band, from 1995 to Bowie's death in 2016. Aside from playing bass, she sang lead vocals on live versions of " Under Pressure" (taking the part originally sung by Queen frontman Freddie Mercury) and dueted with Bowie on other songs, including " The London Boys", " Aladdin Sane (1913–1938–197?)", "I Dig Everything", accompanying Bowie on clarinet, and a cover of Laurie Anderson's " O Superman".
