The Angola national basketball team Under-16 represents Angola in international basketball matches and is controlled by the ''Federação Angolana de Basquetebol''. At continental level, it competes at the FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship which is eligible for the FIBA Under-17 World Championship. Angola has been a member of FIBA since 1979. 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship
The 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship (Arabic: بطولة العالم لكرة السلة 2014 تحت 17 سنة ) was the 3rd edition of the FIBA Under-17 World Championship, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U17 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. It was hosted by Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 8 to 16 August 2014. This edition of the tournament was also expanded to sixteen teams. The preliminary round took place in Al-Ahli Arena and Al-Wasl Arena, with the Hamdan Sports Complex hosting the final round. This was the first FIBA U17 World Championship that was held outside of Europe. The United States won their third consecutive title by defeating Australia, in a rematch of the last edition, 99–92 in the final. In 2011 FIBA Africa Championship for Women They won their first Continental African title and they qualified for the first time to 2012 Summer Olympics. They have made their only appearance so far in the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in 2014, where they finished last among 16 teams. The Clube Ferroviário de Luanda (in English: Railway Club Luanda) is an Angolan basketball team based in Luanda. It is the basketball section of the multi-sports club with the same name. The 2017 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship, alternatively the 5th Afrobasket U16, was an international basketball competition held in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius from 13–22 July 2017.
