Geoffrey Smith (bishop)
Geoffrey Martyn Smith (born 1958–59) is an Australian Anglican bishop who has served as the Anglican Archbishop of Adelaide, Archbishop of Adelaide since 28 April 2017 and as Anglican Primate of Australia, Primate of Australia since 7 April 2020. Immediately prior to serving as archbishop, Smith was an assistant bishop, general manager and registrar of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane. Smith's past roles have included rector of Taraka, Papua New Guinea, first vicar of the parochial district of Sawtell, New South Wales, Sawtell-Bonville, New South Wales, Bonville, national director of the Anglican Board of Mission - Australia and Bishop of the Southern Region in the Diocese of Brisbane. Bryan Robin
Bryan Percival Robin (12 January 188717 June 1969) was bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide, South Australia from 1941 to 1956. Early life Robin was educated at Rossall School and the University of Liverpool. Religious life Robin was made a deacon at Michaelmas 1910 (25 September) and ordained a priest the next Michaelmas (24 September 1911) — both times by William Boyd Carpenter, Bishop of Ripon, at Ripon Cathedral. After a curacy at St Margaret's Ilkley he was a member of the Bush Brotherhood of St Barnabas in Northern Queensland from 1914 to 1921. He published a book ''"The Sundowner"'' of his experience as a bush brother which attracted others to join the brotherhood. He was canon and Sub-Dean of St James's Cathedral, Townsville and then Warden of St John's College, Brisbane. Jeffrey Driver
Jeffrey William Driver (born 6 October 1951) is a retired Australian Anglican bishop. He is the former Archbishop of Adelaide and Metropolitan of South Australia in the Anglican Church of Australia. Early life Driver grew up in the New South Wales country town of Cowra. His theological education was undertaken through the Australian College of Theology. After a short career as a newspaper journalist he was ordained in 1977 and began his career as an assistant curate in Bathurst. He held incumbencies at Mid-Richmond and Jamison and was later Archdeacon of Young, New South Wales and also Rector of the parish of St Paul's Manuka in Canberra. Driver was Executive Director of St Mark's National Theological Centre in Canberra from 1995 to 1997, and founding Head of Charles Sturt University's School of Theology. An assistant bishop in the Anglican Communion is a bishop appointed to assist a diocesan bishop. Church of England In the established Church of England, assistant bishops are usually retired (diocesan or suffragan) bishops – in which case they are ''honorary assistant bishop''s. Historically, non-retired bishops have been appointed to be assistant bishops – however, unlike a diocesan or suffragan they do not hold a see: they are not the "Bishop of Somewhere". Ian Gordon Combe George (12 August 1934 – 28 January 2019) was an Australian Anglican bishop. He was the third Archbishop of Adelaide and Metropolitan of South Australia from 1991 to 2004. Early life and education George was educated at St Peter's College, Adelaide and the University of Adelaide. Career After an earlier career as a lawyer, he was ordained a priest in 1964. He held curacies at St Thomas's Mamaroneck and St David's Burnside; and was then priest in charge at St Barbara's Woomera. After this he was a chaplain and lecturer in history at the University of Western Australia. He was Dean of Brisbane from 1973 to 1981 when he became Archdeacon of Canberra.
