Angelo State Rams Women's Soccer
The Angelo State Rams, also known as ASU Rams, are the athletic teams that represent Angelo State University, located in San Angelo, Texas, in intercollegiate sports at the Division II level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), primarily competing in the Lone Star Conference (LSC) since the 1968–69 academic year. Prior to becoming a four-year institution, the Rams previously competed in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) until after the 1963–64 academic year. The women's teams are the Rambelles. Angelo State competes in 13 intercollegiate varsity sports: Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football and track & field; while women's sports include basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, soccer, tennis, track & field and volleyball. Angelo State University
Angelo State University is a public university in San Angelo, Texas. It was founded in 1928 as San Angelo College. It gained university status and awarded its first baccalaureate degrees in 1967 and graduate degrees in 1969, the same year it took on its current name. It offers 50 undergraduate programs and 31 graduate programs. It is the second-largest campus in the Texas Tech University System. History The history of ASU can be traced to 1928, when San Angelo College was established following a municipal election held in 1926. The Angelo State Rams football team represents Angelo State University in NCAA Division II college football. The Rams compete in the South Division of the Lone Star Conference. Angelo State has earned one national title and three conference titles since becoming a member of the Lone Star Conference. The Angelo State University men's basketball team represents Angelo State University in USA NCAA Division II college basketball. They play in the Lone Star Conference. The Rams play home games at Stephens Arena, a 6,500-capacity arena in San Angelo, Texas, on the campus of Angelo State University. Vinay Patel is the current coach. San Angelo Colts
The San Angelo Colts were a professional baseball team based in San Angelo, Texas, in the United States. The Colts were most recently a member of United League Baseball, an independent professional league which was not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. The Colts played their home games at Foster Field. The team experienced declining attendance in later years and announced on July 2, 2014 that it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Although it was stated at the time that operations would not be affected, the team announced on August 11, 2014 that the final 8 games of the 2014 season would not be played. Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium, Norris Diamond is a baseball stadium at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. The stadium is home to the Angelo State University Rams Baseball team. It was built in 2000 for the San Angelo Colts and the Angelo State University Rams. The Colts played in United League Baseball and were then the primary tenants. The stadium is located on the campus of Angelo State University. The stadium can seat 4,200 fans. Foster Field, originally named Colts Stadium, cost $3 million to construct and was built bJim Anglea the former head groundskeeper for the Ballpark at Arlington. It was named after Walton A. The Lone Star Conference (LSC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level. Member institutions are located in the southwestern United States, with schools in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
