Andel, Netherlands
Andel is a village in the municipality of Altena, North Brabant, in the Netherlands. It is located about 7 km southeast of Gorinchem. History Op-Andel was first mentioned in 850 as Analo, and means "higher open forest". Neer-Andel was mentioned in 1382 as "dat derp tot Uutandele", and means the lower or downstream part. The villages developed on the banks of the Afgedamde Maas. The village used to consist of two parts: an upstream part named Op-Andel (), and a downstream part named Neer-Andel (). Later both merged into a single urban area. Roman pottery has been discovered from the 2nd century. The oldest church dates from the 14th century. It later became a ruin and was partially demolished. The Rombouts tower has been restored in 1954. The current Dutch Reformed church dates from the 16th century, and has been enlarged in 1852 and around 1950. Andel was home to 738 people in 1840. Anděl is a neighbourhood in Prague 5's central district of Smíchov, centered on a busy interchange. The name means 'angel' in Czech and originates from the 19th century ''U zlatého anděla'' (Golden Angel) pub originally named after a fresco in the gable depicting an angel. The painting of an angel was preserved after its demolition and is now displayed nearby the metro station entrance. Anděl is an important traffic center. Prague Metro's Line B runs beneath it, Anděl Station serving the area. Tramway lines in north–south and east–west direction cross there (lines 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 20). Anděl (Prague Metro)
Anděl (, meaning "Angel") is a Prague Metro station on Line B, located in Smíchov, Prague 5. The station was built between 1977 and 1985, designed in the Soviet style, by Soviet architects and dedicated to the Czechoslovak–Soviet friendship. It was opened on 2 November 1985, as part of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží. The station was renamed in 1990 to Anděl, after the nearby Anděl neighborhood. At present it is one of the busiest stations on line B. Its original name was ''Moskevská'', after the city of Moscow. Anděl is a lunar impact crater that lies in the rugged central highlands of the Moon. It was named after the Czech astronomer Karel Anděl. It covers the southern and western part of Zealand and Lolland-Falster. The company was founded in 2005 through the merger of SEAS and NVE.
