Andy Smith (footballer, Born 1968)
Andrew Mark Smith (born 27 November 1968) is a retired Scottish footballer who played as a striker, and most recently was a temporary manager of Gretna with Mick Wadsworth. Career Born in Aberdeen and a product of the Scottish Highland Football League, Smith's first senior club was Huntly. He subsequently transferred to Peterhead within the Highland League, prior to moving to Airdrieonians in the Scottish Football League. He briefly played in Canada with the Calgary Kickers of the Canadian Soccer League. He scored Airdrie's goal in the 1992 Scottish Cup Final against Rangers after coming on as a substitute (an eventual 2–1 defeat), and subsequently played in the 1992–93 European Cup Winners' Cup against Sparta Prague. In November 1994, he again came off the bench to score in a cup final, this time the winner in a 3–2 extra-time victory over Dundee in the 1994 Scottish Challenge Cup Final, and at the end of that season appeared in the 1995 Scottish Cup Final versus Celt ... 1995 Scottish Cup Final
The 1995 Scottish Cup Final was played between Celtic and Airdrieonians at Hampden Park on 27 May 1995. Celtic won the match 1–0, with a goal by Pierre van Hooijdonk who headed in after a cross from the left by Tosh McKinlay. This would prove to be the last occasion that the original Airdrieonians reached the final, with the club folding in 2002. Scottish Football League
The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border. From its foundation in 1890 until the breakaway Scottish Premier League (SPL) was formed in 1998, the SFL was the top level of football in Scotland. Ally McCoist
Alistair Murdoch McCoist, (; born 24 September 1962) is a Scottish former footballer who has since worked as a manager and TV pundit. McCoist began his playing career with Scottish club St Johnstone before moving to English side Sunderland in 1981. He returned to Scotland two years later and signed with Rangers. McCoist had a highly successful spell with Rangers, becoming the club's record goalscorer and winning nine successive league championships between 1988–89 and 1996–97. He later played for Kilmarnock. McCoist was inducted into the Scottish Sports Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the Scotland Football Hall of Fame, having gained 61 international caps. Dunfermline Athletic Football Club is a Scottish football club based in the city of Dunfermline, Fife. Founded in 1885, the club currently play in Scottish League One after being relegated from the 2021–22 Scottish Championship.
