Andreas Roth (runner)
Per Andreas Roth (born 29 April 1993) is a Norwegian middle-distance runner specialising in the 400 and later 800 metres. While running the 400 metres he competed at the 2012 World Junior Championships and the 2013 European U23 Championships without reaching the final, and also in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 2012 World Junior Championships and three European Team Championships. In the 800 metres, he competed at the 2014 European Championships and the 2015 European Indoor Championships without reaching the final, before clocking in fifth at the 2015 European U23 Championships. He retired in 2017, but continued as a pacemaker on national level, among others at the Bislett Games. Roth became Norwegian 400 m champion in 2013, also winning silver medals in 2011 and 2014, and then won the 800 metres in 2015 with silver medals in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Bislett Games
The Bislett Games is an annual track and field meeting at the Bislett Stadium in Oslo, Norway. Previously one of the IAAF Golden League events, it is now part of the Diamond League. History The first international athletics meeting at Bislett was held in 1924. Until 1937 the competitions are known as "The American Meetings". Different organizers staged the meetings between 1947 and 1965 until the three athletics associations BUL, Vidar and Tjalve formed the Bislett Alliance. At this year Arne Haukvik founded the Bislett Games. He was a former politician and director of the meeting, who used to invite the athletes, sponsors and the press to his home for his traditional "strawberry party" the day before the event each year. He died of cancer in 2002 at age 76. The tradition however is continued. Ullensaker/Kisa IL, commonly referred to as Ull/Kisa, is a Norwegian sports club from Jessheim in Ullensaker. Founded in 1894, it has sections for association football, team handball and athletics. General history The club was founded on 15 December 1894. After the Second World War it incorporated the AIF club ''Ullensaker AIL'', founded 1932. Ull/Kisa plays with a yellow shirt and green shorts. In football, this is completed with yellow stockings. Athletics The club has had some Norwegian champions, mostly within running events. An early medal winner was Svein Skolt, who took a national bronze medal in the steeplechase in 1951. A few years later, Berit Dønnum took a double 800 metres title in 1962 and 1963. Sand, Akershus
Sand is a village in Ullensaker municipality in Akershus, Norway. The village lies halfway between Gardermoen and Jessheim. The village was previously its own urban area, but now is part of the urban area of Jessheim. Raknehaugen, Ljøgodttjernet, Olaløkka and Kjosbakken are places in Sand. Pacemaker (running)
A pacemaker or pacesetter, sometimes informally called a rabbit, is a runner who leads a middle- or long-distance running event for the first section to ensure a fast time and avoid excessive tactical racing. Pacemakers are frequently employed by race organisers for world record attempts with specific instructions for lap times. Some athletes have essentially become professional pacemakers. A competitor who chooses the tactic of leading in order to win is called a front-runner rather than a pacemaker.
