Andhra University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences is a constituent college of Andhra University, established in 1951. History The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences was formed as a separate department in 1951, with the commencement of a B.Pharm. course, with the late Prof. S. Rangaswamy as founder Head of the Department. The M.Pharm. course was started in 1954. A separate Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences was formed in 1975. Andhra University is the second institute in the country to start pharmacy courses at university level in the 1930s. The pharmacy courses were offered in the B.Sc. Honours degree of Chemical Technology and as a specialization at M.Sc. Chemical Technology level. The M.Pharm. course was started in 1954. A separate Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences was formed in 1975. Andhra Pradesh (, abbr. AP) is a state in the south-eastern coastal region of India. Andhra University (IAST: ''Āndhra Vișvakalāpariṣhat'') is a public university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1926. History King Vikram Deo Verma, the Maharaja of Jeypore was one of the biggest donors of the university. He donated lands and two million rupees for the establishment of the university which was set to be shifted elsewhere by the education authorities due to lack of funding. Furthermore, he provided lakh annually to the university, an approximate figure of lakhs between 1930s - 1940s.a The liberal king was conferred an Honorary Doctorate degree from the university. National Institutional Ranking Framework
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education (India), Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The Framework was approved by the MHRD and launched by Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015. Depending on their areas of operation, institutions have been ranked under 11 different categories – overall, university, colleges, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, medical, architecture, dental and research. The Framework uses several parameters for ranking purposes like resources, research, and stakeholder perception. These parameters have been grouped into five clusters and these clusters were assigned certain weightages. The weightages depend on the type of institution.
