Ana Casas (photographer)
Ana Casas Broda (born 1965) is a Mexican photographer. She is known for her work ''Kinderwunsch'' (2013) which, created over seven years, explored "the joys and woes of motherhood, from sonograms and childbirth to playful adventures with her two sons". Life and work Casas was born in 1965 in Granada, Spain. Her father was Spanish and her mother was Austrian and her first language was German. Her grandmother was a photographer whose photographs inspired Broda. Throughout her childhood, Casas moved back and forth between Spain and Austria. Her parents had a "broken marriage," which would later motivate Casas to "heal the old wounds" in her new family. In 1974, Broda and her mother moved to Mexico City. She attended Casa de las Imágenes, Escuela Activa de Fotografía, the National University of Mexico, and the National School of Anthropology and History, studying photography, painting, and history. Hannah Wilke
Hannah Wilke (born Arlene Hannah Butter; March 7, 1940 – January 28, 1993) was an American painter, sculptor, photographer, video artist and performance artist. Wilke's work is known for exploring issues of feminism, sexuality and femininity. Biography Hannah Wilke was born on March 7, 1940 in New York City to Jewish parents; her grandparents were Eastern European immigrants. In 1962, she received a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia. She taught art in several high schools for approximately 30 years and joined the faculty of the School of Visual Arts. After her graduation the same year she taught art at two high schools. First, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania (1961-1965), between 1965 and 1970 she worked in White Plains, New York. Elinor Carucci
Elinor Carucci (born June 11, 1971) is an Israeli-American Fine Art Photographer of a North-African and Bukhari descent. She is based in New York City. Carucci has published four monographs to date; ''Closer'' (2002), ''Diary of a Dancer'' (2005), ''Mother'' (2013) and Midlife (2019). While maintaining a photography practice, Carucci has also taught at Harvard University Princeton University and currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts MFA program in New York. Robert Frank
Robert Frank (November 9, 1924 – September 9, 2019) was a Swiss photographer and documentary filmmaker, who became an American binational. His most notable work, the 1958 book titled ''The Americans'', earned Frank comparisons to a modern-day de Tocqueville for his fresh and nuanced outsider's view of American society. Critic Sean O'Hagan, writing in ''The Guardian'' in 2014, said ''The Americans'' "changed the nature of photography, what it could say and how it could say it. nbsp;... it remains perhaps the most influential photography book of the 20th century."
