America's Crossroads Bowl
The America's Crossroads Bowl is an annual American NCAA Division II college football bowl game held at Hammond Central High School Stadium in Hammond, Indiana. The game originated as a partnership between the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, and the city of Hobart, Indiana. From 2019 through 2022, the game was played at Brickyard Stadium in Hobart, roughly east of its current location. The America's Crossroads Bowl is one of four Division II sanctioned bowl games. The others are the Heritage Bowl, Live United Texarkana Bowl, and Florida Beach Bowl. The top-placing teams from the GLVC and G-MAC not qualifying for the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs receive an invitation to compete. Hammond, Indiana
Hammond ( ) is a city in Lake County, Indiana. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, and the only city in Indiana to border Chicago. First settled in the mid-19th century, it is one of the oldest cities of northern Lake County. As of the 2020 United States census, it is also the largest in population. ''The Times of Northwest Indiana'' (NWI) is a daily newspaper headquartered in Munster, Indiana. It is the second-largest newspaper in Indiana, behind only ''The Indianapolis Star''. History The paper was founded on June 18, 1906, as ''The Lake County Times''. Its founder, Simon McHie, was a native of a small town along the Niagara River in Canada. In 1933, the name was changed to ''The Hammond Times'', and it became an afternoon paper serving Hammond, Whiting, and East Chicago. In May 1962, the McHie family sold the publication to Robert S. In North America, a bowl game is one of a number of post-season college football games that are primarily played by teams belonging to the NCAA's Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). 2022 Truman State Bulldogs Football Team
The 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference football season was the season of college football contested by the seven football-playing member schools of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) as part of the 2022 NCAA Division II football season. Indianapolis compiled a 9–1 record, won the GLVC championship, and was ranked No. 13 in the final regular season NCAA Division II poll. The Greyhounds lost to Pittsburg State in the first round of the NCAA Division II playoffs. Truman State compiled a 8-2 record and was ranked No. 23 in the final regular season poll. The NCAA Division II Football Championship is an American college football tournament played annually to determine a champion at the NCAA Division II level. It was first held in 1973, as a single-elimination tournament with eight teams. The tournament field has subsequently been expanded three times; in 1988 it became 16 teams, in 2004 it became 24 teams, and in 2016 it became 28 teams.
