Amelia, Umbria
Amelia is a town and ''comune'' of the province of Terni, in the Umbria region of central Italy. It grew up around an ancient hill fort, known to the Romans as Ameria. Geography The town lies in the south of Umbria, on a hill overlooking the Tiber River to the east and the Nera (Tiber), Nera River to the west. The city is north of Narni, from Orte and approximately from Perugia. It is about north of Rome. History According to some scholars, Amelia is the oldest town in Umbria. It was supposedly founded by a legendary Umbrian king, King Ameroe, who gave the city the name Ameria. Pliny the Elder is reported as saying that Ameria was founded 963 years before Third Macedonian War, the war with Perseus (171–168 BC), so 1134 BC. This date cannot be considered accurate. The city was later occupied by the Etruscans, and later still by the Romans, although it is not mentioned by name in the history of the Roman conquest of Umbria. Cabira
Cabira or Kabeira (; el, τὰ Κάβειρα) was a town of ancient Pontus in Asia minor, at the base of the range of Paryadres, about 150 stadia south of Eupatoria or Magnopolis, which was at the junction of the Iris and the Lycus. Eupatoria was in the midst of the plain called Phanaroea, whereas Cabira, as Strabo says was at the base of the Paryadres. Mithridates the Great built a palace at Cabira; and there was a water-mill there (Greek: ὑδραλέτης), and places for keeping wild animals, hunting grounds, and mines. Less than 200 stadia from Cabira was the remarkable rock or fortress called Caenon (Greek: Καινόν ωρίον, where Mithridates kept his most valuable things. Cn. Pompeius took the place and its treasures, which, when Strabo wrote, were in the Roman Capitol. Ameriabank CJSC is an Armenian universal bank offering corporate, investment and retail banking services headquartered in Yerevan, Armenia. It was established in 1910 as a branch of Caucasian Trade Bank, which during the Soviet era was transformed to the Armenian branch of the USSR Vneshtorgbank.
