Amazon Military Command
The Amazon Military Command ( pt, Comando Militar da Amazônia or CMA) is one of eight Military Commands of the Brazilian Army. The Amazon Military Command is responsible for the defence of the Amazon Basin. Four Infantry Brigades specializing in Jungle warfare, one construction Engineer Brigade and one Military Regional Command are subordinated to the CMA. Its area of responsibility covers the states of Amazonas, Acre, Roraima and Rondônia. Ministry Of Defence (Brazil)
The Ministry of Defence ( pt, Ministério da Defesa) of Brazil is the civilian cabinet organization responsible for managing the Military of Brazil. It is Brazil's ministry of defence. It is headed by the Minister of Defence. The Ministry of Defence has three major components under its command structure – the Army Command, the Navy Command, and the Air Force Command. Among the many agencies operated by the Ministry of Defence are the National Civil Aviation Agency, the Infraero, and the Superior War School. The ministry is headquartered in the Ministries Esplanade section of the Monumental Axis, Brasília. Manaus
Manaus () is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. It is the seventh-largest city in Brazil, with an estimated 2020 population of 2,219,580 distributed over a land area of about . Located at the east center of the state, the city is the center of the Manaus metropolitan area and the largest metropolitan area in the North Region of Brazil by urban landmass. It is situated near the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers. It is the only city in the Amazon Rainforest with a population over 1 million people. Amazon Basin
The Amazon basin is the part of South America drained by the Amazon River and its tributaries. The Amazon drainage basin covers an area of about , or about 35.5 percent of the South American continent. It is located in the countries of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Most of the basin is covered by the Amazon rainforest, also known as Amazonia. Amazonas () is a state of Brazil, located in the North Region in the northwestern corner of the country. It is the largest Brazilian state by area and the 9th largest country subdivision in the world, and the largest in South America, being greater than the areas of Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile combined. Acre (state)
Acre () is a state located in the west of the North Region of Brazil and the Amazonia Legal. Located in the westernmost part of the country, at a two-hour time difference from Brasília, Acre is bordered clockwise by the Brazilian states of Amazonas and Rondônia to the north and east, the Bolivian department of Pando to the southeast, and the Peruvian regions of Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Loreto to the south and west. Rondônia
Rondônia () is one of the 26 states of Brazil, located in the northern subdivision of the country (central-western part). To the west is a short border with the state of Acre, to the north is the state of Amazonas, in the east is Mato Grosso, and in the south and southwest is Bolivia.
