Lodi, Lombardy
Lodi ( , ; Ludesan: ) is a city and ''comune'' in Lombardy, northern Italy, primarily on the western bank of the River Adda. It is the capital of the province of Lodi. History Lodi was a Celtic village; in Roman times it was called, in Latin, Laus Pompeia (probably in honour of the consul Gnaeus Pompeius Strabo) and was known also because its position allowed many Gauls of ''Gallia Cisalpina'' to obtain Roman citizenship. It was in an important position where a vital Roman road crossed the River Adda. Lodi became the see of a diocese in the 3rd century. Saint Bassianus (San Bassiano) is the patron saint of the town. A free commune around 1000, it fiercely resisted the Milanese, who destroyed it in 1111. The old town corresponds to the modern Lodi Vecchio. Frederick Barbarossa rebuilt it on its current location in 1158. From 1220, the ''Lodigiani'' (inhabitants of Lodi) spent decades in constructing a system of miles of artificial rivers and channels (called ''Consorzio di M ...

Serie A1 (italian Roller Hockey)
The main Italian clubs competition is the Serie A1 (english Serie A1 italian roller). It contains 14 teams. History The italian championship was formed in 1922 by the first teams who subscribed to the newborn italian federation FIPR (Federazione Italiana Pattinaggio a Rotelle). After 3 years the teams attending the national championship were divided into two different federations and none of them controlled by the fascist regime so that the national team wasn't representing nor being nominated by the regime. The CONI's President Lando Ferretti decided to close both federations acting a forced merging of skating and hockey teams into the new ''FIPR'' supervising the programmed developing of the roller skating sport in Italy. The "italian championship" turned into "National Division", new denomination adopted from 1928 to 1942. Season 1942 had been last played one before the Allied forces entered Italy during WW2. At the end of the war the championship had been reestablished on ...

Roller Hockey (quad)
Roller hockey (in British English), rink hockey (in American English) or quad hockey is a team sport played on roller skates. It is the only quad skate team sport in existence where two teams face-off against one another at the same time. Two teams try to drive a hard ball with their sticks into the opposing teams' goalnet. Each team has five players on the rink at a time, four of whom are skaters and one who is the goalkeeper. The ball can only be put in motion by a stick, not the skate, otherwise a foul will be stated. The game has two 25-minute halves, with 15-minute halftime intermission, plus up to two 5-minute golden goal (a.k.a. "sudden death") periods to settle ties with the clock stopping when the ball becomes dead. If the tie persists, a penalty shootout will determine the winner. Players – including the goalie – use quad skates, whereas inline skates are used in inline hockey. The sticks are similar to those in bandy and shinty. Excessive contact between players is ...

Sports Clubs And Teams Established In 1965
Sport pertains to any form of competitive physical activity or game that aims to use, maintain, or improve physical ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants and, in some cases, entertainment to spectators. Sports can, through casual or organized participation, improve participants' physical health. Hundreds of sports exist, from those between single contestants, through to those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals. In certain sports such as racing, many contestants may compete, simultaneously or consecutively, with one winner; in others, the contest (a ''match'') is between two sides, each attempting to exceed the other. Some sports allow a "tie" or "draw", in which there is no single winner; others provide tie-breaking methods to ensure one winner and one loser. A number of contests may be arranged in a tournament producing a champion. Many sports leagues make an annual champion by arranging games in a ...
