Altina Schinasi
Altina Schinasi (August 4, 1907 – August 19, 1999) was an American sculptor, filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur, window dresser, designer, and inventor. She was known for designing what she called the "Harlequin eyeglass frame", popularly known as Cat eye glasses, cat-eye glasses. Early life Altina Schinasi was the youngest child born to the Schinasi family in the US. Her father, Morris Schinasi, was a Sephardic Jew born in Manisa, Turkey whose wealth stemmed from the international fine tobacco business. Altina's mother, Laurette Schinasi née Ben Rubi, the granddaughter of Schinasi's business associate Joseph Ben Rubi, was a native of Salonica, then in the Ottoman Empire. Altina was born at the Schinasi Mansion on Manhattan's Upper West Side on August 4, 1907. After being tutored at home, Altina attended Horace Mann School and at the age of twelve left home to board at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Altina Railway Station
The Altina railway station is a railway stop that serves the Altina neighborhood of Zemun, Serbia. It is located on railway line 101/105, between and railway stations. Along with the nearby train stop, the Altina stop was constructed as part of the Belgrade–Novi Sad railway reconstruction of 2019–2022. It is served by BG Voz urban rail trains. Layout The stop has two side platforms, each 110 meters long, serving two tracks that are some 50 meters apart. Between them runs a service track leading to the nearby Zemun marshalling yard. The platforms are connected by an underground passageway. Services and access The stop has free parking lots and bicycle racks outside both platforms. Elevator shafts have been constructed but the elevators were not put in use as of April 2022. The stop features an automated public address system and information in Braille on hand railings. Al-Tina
Al-Tina, or Khirbet et-Tineh was a Palestinian Arab village in the Ramle Subdistrict of Mandatory Palestine. The village was located between the Shfela and southern Israeli coastal plain. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War on July 8, 1948, by the Givati Brigade under Operation An-Far. It was located 20. km south of Ramla. The hill on which the village was built stands today next to the Kiryat Mal'akhi – Yoav railway station and next to Highway 6 (Israel), Highway 6. Archeological excavations at the site revealed the remains of a Byzantine Empire, Byzantine settlement. Altina ( sr-cyr, Алтина) is an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Located in the Belgrade's municipality of Zemun, it is one of the newest and fastest growing parts of the city.
