The men's snowboard cross competition of the 2014 Winter Paralympics will be held at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park near Krasnaya Polyana, Russia. The competition is scheduled for 14 March 2014. It will be making its Winter Paralympics debut. The only classification taking part in this event are the standing athletes. Results Each athlete will race the course 3 times and their top 2 times will be added together to get the total time. Paralympic alpine skiing is an adaptation of alpine skiing for athletes with a disability. The sport evolved from the efforts of disabled veterans in Germany and Austria during and after the Second World War. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee Sports Committee. Matti Suur-Hamari (born 31 May 1986) is a para-snowboarder. He is a three-time medalist, including two gold medals, at the Winter Paralympics. He represented Finland at the 2014 Winter Paralympics and again at the 2018 Winter Paralympics where he served as flag-bearer in the 2018 Winter Paralympics Parade of Nations.
