Paralympic alpine skiing is an adaptation of alpine skiing for athletes with a disability. The sport evolved from the efforts of disabled veterans in Germany and Austria during and after the Second World War. The sport is governed by the International Paralympic Committee Sports Committee. Corey Peters (alpine Skier)
Corey Nathan Peters (born 12 July 1983) is a New Zealand alpine skier and Paralympic medalist. He has represented New Zealand at three Paralympics. Career He won a gold medal at the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in the sitting downhill event. Peters described his gold medal-winning run as "probably the run of my life." Less than 24 hours later Peters won a silver medal in the super G sitting event. Peters said that picking up the two medals was more than he expected. "Definitely, I think I have exceeded my own expectations," he said. He had previously won a silver medal at the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games.
