Alone And Forsaken
"Alone and Forsaken" is a country song written and demoed (though never officially released at the time) by American musician Hank Williams. It has been since covered by many artists. Background Williams' recording of the song was taken from one of his performances on the Shreveport radio station KWKH between August 1948 and May 1949. MGM released it in 1955, over two years after Williams' death. The song features only Williams' vocals and acoustic guitar. It explores themes of loneliness and desolation, which he had written about on previous ballads like "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"; unlike this song, "Alone and Forsaken" is set in A minor and features a sparse quality that gives it a darker feel. "Alone and Forsaken" is one of the few songs that Williams ever wrote and sang that sounds more like a folk song than a country song. ''Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes'' is the seventh (and currently last) studio album by the American punk rock band Social Distortion, released on January 18, 2011. It is the band's first album recorded with bassist Brent Harding, their first album of new material since 2004's '' Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll'', and their first release on Epitaph Records. Social Distortion is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (lead vocals, lead guitar), Jonny Wickersham (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Brent Harding (bass, backing vocals), David Hidalgo Jr. (drums), and David Kalish (keyboards). Starting as a hardcore punk band in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, Social Distortion went on a temporary hiatus in the mid-1980s, due to Ness's drug addiction and troubles with the law which resulted in extended stints in various rehabilitation centers that lasted for two years. ''Hope for Haiti Now'' is a live album by various artists to benefit Hope for Haiti Now's campaign to alleviate the 2010 Haiti earthquake. All benefits from the album sales go to Haiti relief organizations, including the Red Cross and Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti foundation. ''Hope for Haiti Now'' features 19 live performances from the television broadcast '' Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief'' as well as the studio version of "Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)", an original track performed by Jay-Z, Bono, The Edge and Rihanna during the telethon. The digital-only album was made available for pre-order through iTunes on January 22, 2010. It set a record as the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history. James Darrell Scott, known as Darrell Scott (born August 6, 1959), is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Tim O'Brien (born March 16, 1954) is an American country and bluegrass musician. In addition to singing, he plays guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki and mandocello.
