Alliance For European Integration III
Alliance for European Integration III ( ro, Alianța pentru Integrare Europeană III) was the ruling coalition in Moldova from 24 July 2015 to January, 2016. History The previous coalition, the Political Alliance for a European Moldova was formed at the beginning of 2015. After a banking scandal and an investigation into the qualifications of Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, on 22 June 2015 Gaburici resigned as Prime Minister and was replaced on an interim basis by Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman, also of the PLDM. On 24 July, the Liberal Party (PL) informed that it joined a new majority coalition which was approved by the Moldovan parliament on 31 July. Moldova ( , ; ), officially the Republic of Moldova ( ro, Republica Moldova), is a Landlocked country, landlocked country in Eastern Europe. Coalition Governments
A coalition government is a form of government in which political parties cooperate to form a government. The usual reason for such an arrangement is that no single party has achieved an absolute majority after an election, an atypical outcome in nations with majoritarian electoral systems, but common under proportional representation. Streleț Cabinet
The Streleț Cabinet was the Cabinet of Moldova from 30 July to 29 October 2015. It consisted of ministers from the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Liberal Party (PL), who together formed the Alliance for European Integration III. The Cabinet was installed after a successful vote of confidence held in the Parliament of Moldova on 30 July 2015. It was dismissed by Parliament on 29 October amid ongoing protests, lasting 3 months. Moldovan Parliament
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is the supreme representative body of the Republic of Moldova, the only state legislative authority, being a unicameral structure composed of 101 elected MPs on lists, for a period of 4 years. Parliament is elected by universal vote, equal directly, secret and freely expressed. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova is elected by the Parliament, with a minimum of 52 votes. A majority government is a government by one or more governing parties that hold an absolute majority of seats in a legislature. This is as opposed to a minority government, where the largest party in a legislature only has a plurality of seats. A government majority determines the balance of power. A majority government is usually assured of having its legislation passed and rarely if ever, has to fear being defeated in parliament, a state is also known as a working majority. Natalia Gherman
Natalia Gherman (; born 20 March 1969) is a Moldovan politician, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova from May 2013 to January 2016. She has served as Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia (UNRCCA) since 2017. Born in Chișinău in 1969, she is the daughter of Mircea Snegur, the first President of Moldova. She studied at the Moldova State University and completed postgraduate studies at King's College London. She joined the Moldovan diplomatic service, working in several different places before eventually becoming Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the OSCE from 2002 to 2006, and Ambassador to Sweden, Norway and Finland from 2006 to 2009. Chiril Gaburici (; born 23 November 1976 in Logănești) is a Moldovan businessman and former Prime Minister of Moldova. Biography Chiril Gaburici was born on 23 November 1976, in Logănești, Kotovsk raion of the then Soviet Republic of Moldova (RSSM). He subsequently graduated from Slavonian University as an economist. Between 2001–2003, Chiril was the regional sales representative of Moldcell (mobile network operator). He was in charge of the sales network in the regions.
