Alliance For Change (Guyana)
The Alliance for Change (AFC) is a political party in Guyana. Raphael Trotman
Raphael Trotman (born 1966) is a Guyana, Guyanese lawyer and politician. He was the List of Speakers of the National Assembly of Guyana, Speaker of the National Assembly of Guyana from 2011 to 2015. He was the country's Minister for Natural Resources from 2015 to 2020. A former executive member of the People's National Congress (Guyana), People's National Congress Reform, Trotman co-founded the Alliance for Change (Guyana), Alliance For Change (AFC) in 2005 along with Khemraj Ramjattan and Sheila Holder. 2015 Guyanese General Election
Early general elections were held in Guyana on 11 May 2015, alongside regional elections as a result of President Donald Ramotar proroguing the National Assembly. The result was a victory for the APNU– Alliance for Change alliance, which won 33 of the 65 seats in the National Assembly. Following the elections, APNU leader David A. Granger was sworn in as president on 16 May 2015.
