Alliance For Finance
The Alliance for Finance is a trade union federation in the United Kingdom. Trade involves the transfer of goods and services from one person or entity to another, often in exchange for money. Economists refer to a system or network that allows trade as a market. Community is a British trade union which formed in 2004. The union represents workers in a diverse range of sectors, including iron and steel, justice and custodial, domestic appliance manufacturing, textiles and footwear, road transport, betting, the third sector, education and early years as well as the self-employed. Although the former trade unions which amalgamated to form Community were all craft unions or industrial unions, Community is now a general union (and the smallest of the 'General Unions' in the TUC). The Nationwide Group Staff Union (NGSU) is an independent trade union in the United Kingdom. It has a membership of over 12,000 and represents workers within the Nationwide Building Society and its associated companies. The NGSU was formed in 1990 by the merger of Anglia Building Society Staff Association and Nationwide Building Society Staff Association. The Portman Group Staff Association (PGSA) transferred engagements to NGSU in 2008. It is affiliated to the Trades Union Congress. Leeds Building Society Staff Association
Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. Aegis is a trade union representing workers in financial services in the United Kingdom. The union was founded in 1971 as the Scottish Equitable Staff Association, an internal staff association at Scottish Equitable. Scottish Equitable was renamed Aegon UK in 2010, and the union changed its name to "Aegis", affiliating to the Trades Union Congress in the same year. By 2012, some Aegon staff had been outsourced, and the union began also recruiting those workers. Accord is an independent trade union, affiliated to the TUC and the Scottish TUC and specialized for around 25,000 staff in financial services, including members in the Lloyds Banking Group, MBNA, TSB, The Equitable Life Assurance Society and Sainsbury's Bank. History Accord can trace its origins back to 1978, when it was founded as the Halifax Building Society Staff Association (HBSSA). The HBSSA was founded by John Simmons, the then manager of the Halifax branch in Plymouth.
