All Souls' Hospital
The All Souls' Hospital was a Catholic hospital based in Morristown, New Jersey. It was run in part by the Grey Nuns of Montreal. Its founding chair was Paul Revere, lawyer, civic leader, and great-grandson of American revolutionary figure Paul Revere. The hospital's goal was to "care orthe diseased, disabled, and infirm, and ther suchcharitable work." Its Morristown location used the historic Arnold's Tavern building from the 1770s, which was moved from the Morristown Green to Julia Keese Colles's property. When a 1918 fire destroyed the Tavern, the Hospital was rebuilt across the street and continued to serve the community until the 1970s. Arnold's Tavern
Jacob Arnold's Tavern, also known as the Old Arnold Tavern and the Duncan House, was a "famous" historic tavern established by Samuel Arnold circa 1740. Until 1886, it was located in Morristown Green in Morristown, New Jersey. In 1777 it served as George Washington's headquarters during the Revolutionary War, and it was the site of Benedict Arnold's first trial in 1780. The National Park Service claims "Much of orrisown's social, political, and business life was conducted at Arnold's Tavern" during the Revolutionary era. Augustus Lefebvre Revere was an American financier, banker, stock broker, and civic leader from Morristown, New Jersey. Caroline Rose Foster (6 April 1877 – 26 July 1979) was an American farmer and philanthropist who managed Fosterfields, a working farm in Morristown, New Jersey, United States. Foster was a member of over 30 civic and historical organizations including the Washington Association, Washington Valley Community, Madison Historical Society, Canal Society of N.J., Morris County Golf Club, Morristown Lawn Tennis Club, the Woman's Club of Morristown, and the Morris County Historical Society. She was skilled in fishing, writing, local politics, and carpentry. Beginning in 1910 and throughout her life, Foster challenged gender roles of the Progressive Era by wearing men's clothing including men's hats, pants, shoes, and tuxedos.
