"All I Am" is a song written by Lynsey de Paul and Susan Sheridan. It was first released as an album track on ''Candles'', the 1980 Billboard charting album from the soul group, Heatwave. Band member Johnnie Wilder, Jr. revealed that he invited de Paul to contribute the track. This version has also been released on the Heatwave compilation album ''Maximum Heat'', as well as on the compilation albums ''The Love Box II: 75 Love Song Sensations'', "Hits of the Year 3", "Greatest Slow Legendary" and "Do You Remember This". In 2010, it was released as a track on the expanded and remastered CD version of ''Candles''. It ranked number 7 in the Indonesian top 100 "JazzyTunes songs" chart. A version of the song was also released as a track on the January 1981 Marti Webb album, ''Won't Change Places'', which also featured another Lynsey de Paul/Susan Sheridan song "What You Gonna Do With Your Freedom". Susan Sheridan
Susan Haydn Thomas (18 March 1947 – 8 August 2015) better known as Susan Sheridan, was an English voice actress. Her roles included Noddy in '' Noddy's Toyland Adventures'', Princess Sylvia in '' Muzzy in Gondoland'', Trillian in the BBC radio series ''The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy'' and Princess Eilonwy in the animated film '' The Black Cauldron''. ''Candles'' is the fourth studio album by the British pop, funk, disco band Heatwave. Arranged, and primarily written by Rod Temperton, it was released on on the GTO record label in the United Kingdom, and the Epic record label (number 36873) in the United States. It was produced by lead singer Johnnie Wilder, Jr. and James Guthrie. It made number 71 on the ''Billboard'' LP and Tapes chart, dated 17 January 1980. It was the last Heatwave album to be released on the GTO record label before it was wrapped up in late 1981. It was also the only Heatwave album to feature James Dean "J.D." Nicholas, he left the band after the album's release in 1980 to replace Lionel Richie as a lead singer of the Commodores in 1984. Heatwave is a Dayton, Ohio based funk/disco band formed in 1975. Marti Webb (born 13 December 1943) is an English actress and singer, who appeared on stage in ''Evita (musical), Evita'', before starring in Andrew Lloyd Webber's one-woman show ''Tell Me on a Sunday'' in 1980. ''Won't Change Places'' is an album by Marti Webb released in 1981 as a follow-up to ''Tell Me on a Sunday''. As with her previous album, the recording was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber for the Polydor label. It included a recording of " Don't Cry for Me Argentina" from the musical ''Evita'' in which Webb was appearing as Eva Perón at the time. The album featured the singles "Your Ears Should Be Burning Now" and "I've Been in Love Too Long", and was released in early 1981. Of these, only "Your Ears Should Be Burning Now" was a chart hit. Additional singles " Don't Cry For Me Argentina" and " All I Am" (a version of which was also released around the same time by Heatwave on their "Candles" album") were released in South Africa. A few months later, "Unexpected Song", a duet with Justin Hayward, was also released as a single but was not featured on this album.
