''All Gods Children: The Cult Experience – Salvation Or Slavery?'' is a non-fiction book on cults, by journalists Carroll Stoner and Jo Anne Parke. The book was published in May 1977 in hardcover, and again in 1979 in paperback by Penguin Books. Reception White's ''Collection Management in School Library Media Centers'' described the book as a critical and sensitive analysis on the effects cults can have on their converts and family members. Bob Larson's '' Larson's Book of World Religions and Alternative Spirituality'' states that the work describes some of the newer cults, explains their teachings, and why they may be dangerous for younger new members. McConnell's ''Stepping Over'' described the work as an insightful seminal study, which could have been written specifically with regard to Jim Jones and the Peoples Temple. J. Milton Yinger, writing for ''Contemporary Sociology'', notes that Stoner and Parke seem inconsistent about some of their book's details, like the ...

All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes
''All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes'', published in 1986, is the fifth book in African-American writer and poet Maya Angelou's seven-volume autobiography series. Set between 1962 and 1965, the book begins when Angelou is 33 years old, and recounts the years she lived in Accra, Ghana. The book, deriving its title from a Negro spiritual, begins where Angelou's previous memoir, '' The Heart of a Woman'', ends — with the traumatic car accident involving her son Guy — and closes with Angelou returning to America. As she had started to do in her first autobiography, ''I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings'', and continued throughout her series, Angelou upholds the long tradition of African-American autobiography. At the same time she makes a deliberate attempt to challenge the usual structure of the autobiography by critiquing, changing, and expanding the genre. Angelou had matured as a writer by the time she wrote ''Traveling Shoes'', to the point that she was able to play with ...

All God's Chillun Got Rhythm
"All God's Chillun Got Rhythm" is a 1937 jazz standard. It was written by Walter Jurmann, Gus Kahn and Bronisław Kaper especially for Ivie Anderson, who performed it in the Marx Brothers' 1937 film '' A Day at the Races'', the tune was also used for the opening theme. The lyrics state that "All God's Children Got Rhythm" even if they "maybe haven't got money, maybe haven't got shoes". The authors (European immigrants from Poland, Germany, and Austria) were likely influenced by a traditional Negro spiritual " All God's Chillun Got Wings" alternately called "All God's Children Got Shoes" which affirms that all God's children have shoes. This was the inspiration for a Eugene O'Neill play of the same name in the 1924 and recorded by Paul Robeson,''All God's Chillun Got Wings'' sung by Paul Robeson
