FC Dallas
FC Dallas is an American professional Association football, soccer club based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The club competes as a member of the Western Conference (MLS), Western Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS). The franchise began play in 1996 as a charter club of the league. The club was founded in 1995 as the Dallas Burn before adopting its current name in 2004. Since 2005, Dallas have played in the DFW area's northern suburbs at the 20,500-capacity soccer-specific stadium, soccer-specific Toyota Stadium (Texas), Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas; home games in the club's early years were played at the Cotton Bowl (stadium), Cotton Bowl. The team is owned by the Hunt Sports Group led by brothers Clark Hunt and Dan Hunt, who is the team's president. Brian Bates (soccer)
Brian Bates (born August 16, 1972 in Woodbridge, Virginia) is a retired American soccer defender who spent four seasons in Major League Soccer and three in the USISL. Club career Bates attended the University of Virginia, playing on the men’s soccer team from 1990 to 1993. Bates and his team mates won the 1991, 1992 and 1993 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. In 1994, he signed with the Richmond Kickers of the USISL. In 1995, the Kickers won both the league and Open Cup titles, giving Bates a double. On February 6, 1996, the Colorado Rapids selected Bates in the fourth round (thirty-second overall) in the 1996 MLS Inaugural Player Draft. On November 6, 1997, the Chicago Fire selected Bates with the 19th pick in the 1997 MLS Expansion Draft. He played two games for Chicago before being traded to the Dallas Burn for Tom Soehn. Ronald Cerritos
Ronald Osvaldo Cerritos Flores (born January 3, 1975, in San Salvador) is a Salvadoran former professional footballer who played as a striker. Cerritos is the all-time leader in assists of the Major League Soccer team, the San Jose Earthquakes, with 47. Club career Cerritos has spent the bulk of his career playing in MLS, being signed by the league on March 21, 1997, and allocated to the San Jose Clash. While with San Jose he achieved great success, being named in the MLS Best XI in his first year with the club. In the offseason after 2001, however, Cerritos was traded to the Dallas Burn for Ariel Graziani. He never was able to settle in Dallas, having trouble earning a starting spot, and struggling with injuries. Fabián Castillo
Fabián Andrés Castillo Sánchez (born 17 June 1992) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Primera División de Chile club Colo-Colo. Club career Deportivo Cali Castillo started his career in the youth ranks of Colombian side Deportivo Cali. In 2010, he joined the first team and became an important player for the club. On 18 July 2010, he scored his first professional goal in a 1–1 draw against Deportes Tolima. In his first year with the club, he appeared in 18 league matches and scored 3 goals. Jeff Cassar
Jeff Cassar (born February 2, 1974) is an American soccer coach and former goalkeeper who last coached Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer. Playing career Cassar played college soccer at Florida International University, where he was roommates with Steve Ralston. Following his graduation, he was selected eighth overall in the 1996 MLS College Draft by the Dallas Burn. Although Cassar made the team, Mark Dodd took firm hold of the starting position, and Cassar only appeared in two games that season. After spending all of the 1997 season injured with a torn ACL, Cassar was selected tenth overall in the 1997 MLS Expansion Draft by the Miami Fusion. Cassar started much of the Fusion's inaugural season, appearing in twenty-one games, all starts, and compiling a GAA of 1.95. Carl Bussey
Carl Bussey is a retired American soccer midfielder who played professionally in Major League Soccer and the USL First Division. He played three games for the U.S. at the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Championship. Bussey graduated from Plano East Senior High School. He attended Southern Methodist University where he was a 1999 and 2000 First Team All American soccer player. On February 10, 2002, the Dallas Burn selected Bussey in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2002 MLS SuperDraft. He played nine games for Dallas in 2002, but saw no first team game time in 2003 before being released in June. Ray Burse
Ray Burse, Jr. (born October 2, 1984 in Prospect, Kentucky) is an American former soccer player. Career College and amateur Burse attended St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky, and played college soccer at Ohio State University. His 162 career saves and 1.11 goals against average (GAA) has left him as one of OSU's best goalkeepers to date. In high school Burse was named an All-American playing as a forward. In 2005 Burse also played for Chicago Fire Premier in the USL Premier Development League, finishing the year with an impressive 0.68 GAA. Professional Burse was drafted in the third round of the 2006 MLS Superdraft and played on the F.C. Dallas reserve squad. Michael Burke (soccer)
Michael Burke (born February 25, 1977) is a retired American soccer player. Career College and Amateur Burke attended Loyola University Maryland, playing two seasons of college soccer. In 1997, he left college early for personal reasons. His professional soccer career started in his hometown of Jacksonville, FL. He spent time with Deportivo Cali in Colombia and Nottingham Forest in England. Professional Burke began his professional career in 1998 when he signed with the Jacksonville Cyclones of the A-League. Late in the season, Michael Burke asked to be released to pursue other teams. After Burke sat out for a week of training, the club agreed to trade him to the Charleston Battery and Burke was named the 1998 USL A-League Rookie of the Year. Chris Brown is a retired English-American footballer who spent most of his career in the USL A-League. He is the co-head coach of the South Florida Bulls women's soccer team. Paul Broome
Paul Broome (born June 6, 1976, in Dallas, Texas) is a retired American soccer defender who played eight seasons in Major League Soccer. Youth and college Broome graduated from Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, Texas, where he was an All-State soccer and football player. He also played youth soccer with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club. He attended Southern Methodist University, playing as a midfielder and forward on the men's soccer team from 1995 to 1998. He graduated with a degree in business administration. Professional Broome was drafted in the first round (12th overall) in the 1999 MLS College Draft by his hometown Dallas Burn. Tenywa Bonseu
Tenywa "T-Bone" Bonseu (born October 28, 1976 in Kampala) is a retired Ugandan footballer, who played nine years of professional soccer in the United States. Career Amateur and college Bonseu began his career playing for Horizon FC in his native Uganda, before coming to the United States in 1997 to attend and play college soccer for Martin Methodist College in rural Tennessee after a trial with a club in the Japanese J-League. Professional Bonseu joined the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the A-League in 1999 and played there for two seasons, before signing with the Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire. Colin Bonner
Colin Michael Bonner (born May 1, 1994) is a retired American soccer player. Career College and amateur Bonner played college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington between 2012 and 2015. In 2015, Bonner played with Premier Development League side D.C. United U-23. Professional FC Dallas selected Bonner in the third round (45th overall) of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. He was loaned to United Soccer League side Oklahoma City Energy and made his professional debut on May 1, 2016, in a 1-1 draw against Seattle Sounders FC 2.
