Major League Soccer (MLS) is a men's professional soccer league sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation, which represents the sport's highest level in the United States. The league comprises 29 teams—26 in the U.S. and 3 in Canada—since the 2023 season. The league is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan. Major League Soccer is the most recent in a series of men's premier professional national soccer leagues established in the United States and Canada. The predecessor of MLS was the North American Soccer League (NASL), which existed from 1968 until 1984. Carlo Chueca
Carlo Franco Chueca del Río (born 23 March 1993) is a Peruvian footballer who last played for FC Ararat Yerevan of the Armenian Premier League. Career In May 2009, while playing with Chivas USA U16, Carlo Chueca was detected by RSC Anderlecht. The Belgian club offered him a 2-year contract, and Chueca was integrated to the U21 team coached by ex-international star Johan Walem. During his first season with Anderlecht U21 he scored 2 goals in competition games and participated in the famous Viareggio Tournament in Italy. Kraig Chiles
Kraig Chiles (born May 14, 1984) is an American soccer player currently playing for the San Diego Sockers in the Major Arena Soccer League. Career Youth and college Chiles played high school soccer for Poway High School in Poway, California, and remains one of the school's all-time leading goalscorers. At San Diego State University he was named to the All-Pac-10 team three times, including First Team All-Pac-10 senior year. Kraig scored 21 goals and had 12 assists in his four years with the Aztecs. Professional Chiles was drafted 9th overall by CD Chivas USA in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft. Chukwudi Chijindu
Chukwudi Ibegbunaneke 'Chuck' Chijindu (born February 20, 1986) is an American professional soccer player. Career Youth A native of Fontana, California, Chijindu attended Damien High School in La Verne, California, He was a 4-year Varsity letterman and full starter as a freshman. He led his team in scoring his junior and senior seasons, and was the team MVP as well as a 2-time Sierra League MVP. Chijindu was also an All-America Top 100 pick. Marvin Antonio Chávez (born November 3, 1983 in La Ceiba) is a Honduran footballer who played as a midfielder, most recently for C.D. Marathón in the Liga Nacional. Career Club Chávez – who is nicknamed "el hijo del viento" (''the son of the wind'') – spent the early part of his professional career playing in Honduras for Victoria and Marathón. Paolo Daniel Cardozo (born June 9, 1989) is an Uruguayan footballer who currently plays for Olympians FC in the United Premier Soccer League. Daniel Benjamin Califf (born March 17, 1980 in Orange, California) is an American retired soccer player. Career Youth and College Califf (pronounced kāl'ĭ-f) started his youth career in soccer for Canyon Hills Soccer Association, playing on the Canyon Classic team coached by his father. He played college soccer at the University of Maryland from 1998 to 2000. Preston Burpo
Preston Burpo (born September 26, 1972 in Bethesda, Maryland) is a retired American soccer player who is currently the goalkeeper coach for Austin FC in Major League Soccer. College Burpo played collegiate soccer at Southern New Hampshire University from 1992 to 1995. During his career there he earned a goals against average of 1.19 and recorded 38 shutouts. He was the first Penman to earn All-Region honors in 1992. Bobby Burling
Robert Charles Burling (born October 15, 1984) is an American soccer player who plays as a defender. Career College Burling played college soccer at Loyola Marymount University and with Colorado Springs Blizzard in the USL Premier Development League before being drafted in the 4th round (45th overall) by Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2007 MLS Superdraft. Professional Burling was not offered a contract by Galaxy, and instead signed for Chivas USA three months later. He made over twenty appearances for Chivas, but did not score a goal. Justin Braun (soccer)
Justin Braun (born March 31, 1987) is an American retired soccer player who played as a forward. Career Youth and amateur Braun had an accomplished career at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, where he was named to the All-State first team in his junior and senior years, and to the second team his second year, as well as being the leading scorer in the state during his last two years at the school.
