Ali Akbar Tabatabaei
Ali Akbar Tabatabaei ( fa, علیاکبر طباطبایی ; 4 September 1930 – 22 July 1980) was an Iranian exile and former press attache to the Iranian embassy in the United States during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Biography Ali Akbar Tabatabaei was born on 4 September 1930, in Hamedan, Imperial State of Persia, to a prominent Iranian family, he was the grandson of a mullah. He had a twin brother, Mohammad. Tabatabaei attended Tehran University and had a degree in law. Tabatabaei came to the United States in 1952 with dreams about becoming an architect, and to study at Howard University's School of Architecture. While attended Howard University, he took a part-time job at the Iranian Embassy. There had been rumors he was connected to SAVAK, Iran's secret police during the Pahlavi-era. Hamedan
Hamadan () or Hamedan ( fa, همدان, ''Hamedān'') (Old Persian: Haŋgmetana, Ecbatana) is the capital city of Hamadan Province of Iran. At the 2019 census, its population was 783,300 in 230,775 families. The majority of people living in Hamadan identify as ethnic Persians. Hamedan is believed to be among the oldest Iranian cities. Ardeshir Zahedi, GCVO ( fa, اردشیر زاهدی; 16 October 1928 – 18 November 2021) was an Iranian politician and diplomat who served as the country's foreign minister from 1966 to 1971, and its ambassador to the United States and the United Kingdom during the 1960s and 1970s. Early life Born in Tehran on 16 October 1928, he was the son of General Fazlollah Zahedi, who served as prime minister after participating in the CIA-led coup which led to the fall of Mohammed Mossadegh, and wife Khadijeh Pirnia.
