Alfred Swahn
Alfred (Alf) Gomer Swahn (20 August 1879 – 16 March 1931) was a Swedish sport shooter who competed at the 1908, 1912, 1920 and 1924 Summer Olympics. He won nine medals: three gold, three silver and three bronze. He is the son of Oscar Swahn, an Olympic shooter who competed alongside his son at the 1908, 1912 and 1920 Olympics and won six medals. 1908 London In 1908 Swahn was a member of the Swedish team which won the gold medal in the team running deer, single shots competition. He also participated in the individual trap event and finished 25th. 1912 Stockholm At the 1912 Summer Olympics he won two gold medals in running deer, single shots event. Uddevalla
Uddevalla (old no, Oddevold) is a town and the seat of Uddevalla Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. In 2015, it had a population of 34 781. It is located at a bay of the south-eastern part of Skagerrak. The beaches of Uddevalla are filled with seashells and Uddevalla has one of the largest shell-banks in the world. Uddevalla has a port and it once had a large shipyard, the ''Uddevallavarvet'' ("Uddevalla wharf"), which was the largest employer in Bohuslän during the 1960s. The men's trap (originally called ''clay bird shooting'') was a shooting sports event held as part of the shooting at the 1912 Summer Olympics programme. It was the third appearance of the event, which had been introduced in 1900. The competition was held from Tuesday, 2 July 1912 to Thursday, 4 July 1912. Each nation could send up to 12 shooters.Official Report, p. 1065. Sixty-one sport shooters from eleven nations competed. The event was won by James Graham of the United States. Silver went to Alfred Goeldel of Germany and bronze to Haralds Blaus of the Russian Empire. Each of the nations on the podium was making its debut in the event.
