Alfonse Owiny-Dollo
Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo is a Ugandan lawyer and judge. He has been the Chief Justice of Uganda since 20 August 2020. He served as the Acting Chief Justice of Uganda from 22 June 2020 and was a deputy Chief Justice from 30 September 2017. He had been appointed to that position in August 2017, replacing Steven Kavuma, who attained the mandatory retirement age of 70 years on 29 September 2017. Background and education He was born on 18 January 1956 in present-day Agago District. He attended King’s College Budo and Nabumali High School for his O’Level and A’Level education respectively. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University and a Diploma in Legal Practice, from the Law Development Centre in Kampala, Uganda's largest city and capital. Chief Justice Of Uganda
The Supreme Court of Uganda is the highest court, judicial organ in Uganda. It derives its powers from Article 130 of the Constitution of Uganda, 1995 Constitution. Nabumali High School
Nabumali High School (NHS) is a mixed, boarding, secondary school in the Eastern Region of Uganda. Location Nabumali High School is located in the village of Nabumali in Mbale District, off the Tororo–Mbale road, approximately , south of the city of Mbale. This location is at the foothills of Wanale, one of the mountain ranges that make up Mount Elgon. History The school was founded by the Church Missionary Society in 1900. It moved to its present location in 1912. In August 2004, a student strike occurred at the school in protest of the school bursar's alleged mishandling of funds. The performance of the school was exemplary in the 1960s through the 1990s. During the 2000s, standards have declined. The Court of Appeal of Uganda (also constituted as the Constitutional Court of Uganda) is the second-highest judicial organ in Uganda. It derives its powers from Article 134 of the 1995 Constitution. Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon (born 26 November 1952) is a South Sudanese politician who serves as the First Vice President of South Sudan. Political life In February 2020, Machar was re-sworn in as first vice president following a revitalised peace agreement with Salva Kiir, the current President of South Sudan. The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), also known as the Lord's Resistance Movement, is a rebel group and heterodox Christian group which operates in northern Uganda, South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Uganda is a presidential republic in which the President of Uganda is the head of state and the prime minister is the head of government business. There is a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is given to both the government and the National Assembly.
