Chișinău ( , , ), also known as Kishinev (russian: Кишинёв, r=Kishinjóv ), is the Capital city, capital and largest city of the Republic of Moldova. The city is Moldova's main industrial and commercial center, and is located in the middle of the country, on the river Bîc River, Bâc, a tributary of the Dniester. The Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic ( ro, Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească, Moldovan Cyrillic: ) was one of the 15 republics of the Soviet Union which existed from 1940 to 1991. The republic was formed on 2 August 1940 from parts of Bessarabia, a region annexed from Romania on 28 June of that year, and parts of the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, an autonomous Soviet republic within the Ukrainian SSR. After the Declaration of Sovereignty on 23 June 1990, and until 23 May 1991, it was officially known as the Soviet Socialist Republic of Moldova. Fotbal Club Dacia Chișinău, commonly known as Dacia Chișinău or simply Dacia, was a Moldovan football club based in Chișinău, which last played in the village of Speia, Anenii Noi. They participated in the Divizia Națională, the top division in Moldovan football. The club's name came from Dacia, an ancient civilization which covered parts of modern Moldova. Established in 1999, it entered the Moldovan "A" Division in 2000 and was promoted to the first division two years later. They won their first league title in the 2010–11 season, thereby qualifying for the preliminaries of the UEFA Champions League. FC Dacia-2 Buiucani
Dacia Buiucani is a Moldovan football club from the Buiucani sector of Chișinău. The club competes in the Moldovan Super Liga, the first tier of Moldovan football. The academy of the club is called CSCT Buiucani. CSCT is an abbreviation for Sports Club for Children and Youth ( ro, Clubul Sportiv pentru Copii și Tineret). The club plays its home matches at Joma Arena, which has a capacity of 2,000 spectators. The current head coach is Andrei Martin. History The club was founded as CSCA Buiucani on 25 September 1997. FC Sfîntul Gheorghe is a Moldovan professional football club based in Suruceni, Moldova. They play in the Moldovan Super Liga, the top division in Moldovan football. History The club was formed in 2003. Until 2007, it was represented by seven youth teams, aged 10–18 years. In 2007, the Under-18 team became the champion of The Republic of Moldova. In 2008–2009, the club decided to enter the second tier of Moldovan football, the Divizia A.
