Alexandria
Alexandria ( or ; ar, ٱلْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةُ ; grc-gre, Αλεξάνδρεια, Alexándria) is the second largest city in Egypt, and the largest city on the Mediterranean coast. Raneem Mohamed Yasser Saad El Din El Welily ( ar, رنيم محمد ياسر سعد الدين الوليلي; born 1 January 1989, in Alexandria, Egypt) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. She has reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in September 2015. She is a three-time finalist at the World Open, in 2014, 2016, and 2019/2020. She became the World Champion in 2017, after defeating Nour El Sherbini in the finals. Career Junior career Alexandria-born El Welily has emerged as one of the most skillful players on the PSA Women's World Tour since she turned professional in 2002. WSA World Series
The WSA World Series (formerly known as the WISPA World Series) is a series of women's squash (sport), squash tournaments which are part of the Women's Squash Association (WSA) WSA World Tour 2014, World Tour for the 2014 squash (sport), squash season. The eight best-performing players in the World Series events qualify for the annual PSA World Series Finals, WSA World Series Finals tournament. Each year, several tournaments on the tour are designated World Series events. These include major events such as the World Open (squash), World Championship, the United States Open (squash), US Open or the British Open Squash Championships, British Open. Then, early the next year, the eight best-performing players from the World Series events are invited to compete in the World Series Squash Finals, WSA World Series Finals (a similar event to the WTA Tour Championships). The Alexandria International 2015 is the women's edition of the 2015 Alexandria International, which is a tournament of the PSA World Tour event International (Prize money : 100 000 $). The event took place at the Library of Alexandria in Alexandria in Egypt from 4 June to 10 June. Omneya Abdel Kawy
Omneya Abdel Kawy ( ar, أمنية عبد القوي; born 15 August 1985, in Cairo) is a former professional squash player from Egypt. Career Omneya crowned a successful junior career in 2003 in her home city of Cairo when she became the first Egyptian woman to win a world junior title having won the 2003 World Junior Championship; she had previously been the runner up to Nicol David in 1999 and 2001. Such was already competing on the WISPA Tour during her mid teens. She reached number seven in the world rankings early in 2005 and achieved match ball against world number one Rachael Grinham in the final of the Hurghada International in her home country, though she eventually lost the match. She also reached another two finals, in the Harrow, Greenwich Open and the Dayton Open, both in the United States, and finished as a runner up. Nour El Sherbini
Nour El Sherbini ( ar, نور الشربيني; born 1 November 1995) is an Egyptian professional squash player. She is a six time World champion and became the youngest woman to win the Women's World Championship (2015). In 2016, she retained her title and in 2019 won her third World Championship equalling the feat of Michelle Martin and rising to equal fourth in the all-time list of world championships won. She is the current world champion after winning the 2021/2022 edition of the tournament. Early life Nour was born and has been raised in Alexandria, Egypt.
