Alexander John Colquhoun
Alexander John Colquhoun (1868 – February 5, 1951) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Maple Creek in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1917 to 1921 as a Liberal. He was born in Colquhoun, Dundas County, Ontario Dundas County is a former county in the province of Ontario, Canada. It was named after Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, who was the British Home Secretary (1791–1794), with responsibility for the colonies. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The Saskatchewan Liberal Party is a liberal political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The party was the provincial affiliate of the Liberal Party of Canada until 2009. Dundas County, Ontario
Dundas County is a former county in the province of Ontario, Canada. It was named after Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, who was the British Home Secretary (1791–1794), with responsibility for the colonies. Dundas was first settled by individuals of European background in 1784, when German United Empire Loyalist, Loyalists who had fought with John Johnson (loyalist), Sir John Johnson in the American Revolutionary War re-settled in Canada. The settlers were descendants of the German_Americans#Palatines, Palatine immigrants to America in 1710. Maple Creek, Saskatchewan
Maple Creek is a town in the Cypress Hills of southwest Saskatchewan, Canada. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Maple Creek No. 111. The population was 2,084 at the 2016 Census. The town is southeast of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and north of the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park on Highway 21 and south of the Trans Canada Highway. The administrative headquarters of the Nekaneet Cree Nation is southeast of Maple Creek. History After the North-West Mounted Police had been established at Fort Walsh, settlers began to explore the Cypress Hills area, living along the creeks and doing small-scale ranching.
