Alexander Wyclif Reed (7 March 1908 – 19 October 1979), also known as Clif Reed and A. W. Reed, was a prolific New Zealand publisher and author. Biography Alexander Wyclif Reed, along with his uncle Alfred Hamish Reed, established the publishing firm A. H. & A. W. Reed. He wrote more than 200 books and as an author was known most commonly as A. W. Reed. He was neither a scholar nor a gifted writer, but wrote commercially successful books based on simplifying and popularising secondary sources. James Alexander Reed
James Alexander Reed (November 9, 1861 – September 8, 1944) was an American Democratic Party politician from Missouri. Early life Reed was born on November 9, 1861 on a farm in Richland County, Ohio. He was a descendant of David Reed. He moved with his family to Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the age of 3. He went to public schools and attended Coe College. He became a lawyer and moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1887. Political career Reed served as a city councilor of Kansas City from 1897 to 1898 and as prosecutor of Jackson County from 1898 to 1900. He unsuccessfully prosecuted Jesse E. James, son of the bandit Jesse James, for train robbery in 1899. He was elected Kansas City mayor from 1900 to 1904. As mayor, Reed oversaw the "Kansas City Spirit" construction of Convention Hall in 90 days to host the 1900 Democratic National Convention. Julian Alexander Arnott Reed (January 27, 1936 – January 6, 2022) was a Canadian politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1975 to 1985 representing the riding of Halton—Burlington. He was also a Federal Liberal MP in the House of Commons of Canada from 1993 to 2004. Alec Reed Academy is a mixed all-through school and sixth form located in the Northolt area of the London Borough of Ealing, England. The school operates nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form departments for pupils aged 3 to 19. Its predecessor, Walford Secondary School, was founded in 1955 as a secondary modern school for 11- to 16-year-olds. It later became Walford High School under the comprehensive system. Alyson Reed is an American dancer and actress. Life and career Alyson Reed was born in Fullerton and grew up in Anaheim, California. She began ballet at age 4, started performing in musicals at age 7, and was working professionally by age 12.
