Alex Call (baseball)
Alex M. Call (born September 27, 1994) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2022 with the Cleveland Guardians. Amateur career Born in Burnsville, Minnesota, Call attended River Falls High School in River Falls, Wisconsin, and Ball State University, where he played college baseball for the Ball State Cardinals. In 2015, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Professional career Chicago White Sox The Chicago White Sox selected Call in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft. Columbus Clippers
The Columbus Clippers are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. They are located in Columbus, Ohio, and are named for speedy Merchant ship, merchant Sailing ship, sailing vessels known as clippers. The team has played their home games at Huntington Park (Columbus, Ohio), Huntington Park since 2009. They previously played at Cooper Stadium from 1977 to 2008. Orleans Firebirds
The Orleans Firebirds, formerly the Orleans Cardinals, are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Orleans, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's East Division. The Firebirds play their home games at Eldredge Park in Orleans, which opened in 1913 and is the CCBL's oldest ballpark. The Firebirds are owned and operated by the non-profit Orleans Athletic Association. Orleans has won two CCBL championships in the 21st century, most recently in 2005 when they defeated the Bourne Braves two games to one to win the best of three championship series. Yonder Alonso (born April 8, 1987) is a Cuban former professional baseball first baseman and current MLB Network analyst. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Colorado Rockies. Prior to entering the major leagues, he played college baseball at the University of Miami. Early life Yonder Alonso was born in Havana, Cuba on April 8, 1987, to parents Luis and Damarys.
