Alex Brown (born 28 August 1987) is a Jamaica international rugby league footballer who plays on the for the Underbank Rangers He has played at representative level for Jamaica, and at club level for Keighley, Rochdale Hornets, Huddersfield, Batley and Hull Kingston Rovers, as a . He made his first-grade début, playing Left- in the 10-12 defeat by St. Helens in 2009s Super League XIV at Knowsley Road, St. Helens on Friday 21 August 2009. Huddersfield Giants
Huddersfield Giants are an English professional rugby league club from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, the birthplace of rugby league, who play in the Super League competition. They play their home games at the John Smiths Stadium which is shared with Huddersfield Town F.C. The 2017 Rugby League World Cup Americas qualification was a rugby league tournament that was held in December 2015 to decide the American qualifier for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. Hodges Stadium
Hodges Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium at the University of North Florida (UNF), and the home field for the North Florida Ospreys soccer, track and field, and cross country teams. It is located on the university's campus in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S. It is named for George and Kernan Hodges, who donated $2 million to upgrade the facility in 2006. 2010 Atlantic Cup
The 2010 Atlantic Cup (known as the Hotels of Jacksonville Atlantic Cup for sponsorship purposes) was an international rugby league tournament played in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S. The competing teams were the United States, Jamaica and Canada. The 2010 tournament is the second staging of the Atlantic Cup. The inaugural fixture was won by the United States, who defeated Jamaica 37–22. With the addition of Canada, the format of the tournament was changed from a single match to a round robin with no final. The United States retained the trophy by winning both of their games. Super League referee Phil Bentham was in charge of refereeing all three matches. Like the previous year's tournament, the 2010 match was held at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida. United States National Rugby League Team
The United States national rugby league team represents the United States in international rugby league football competitions. The team is managed by the USA Rugby League (USARL). The United States competed with little success in some international games during the 1950s, but did not return to consistent competition until 1987. Try (rugby)
A try is a way of scoring points in rugby union and rugby league football. A try is scored by grounding the ball in the opposition's in-goal area (on or behind the goal line). Rugby union and league differ slightly in defining "grounding the ball" and the "in-goal" area. In rugby union a try is worth 5 points, in rugby league a try is worth 4 points. The term "try" comes from "try at goal", signifying that grounding the ball originally only gave the attacking team the opportunity to try to score with a kick at goal. A try is analogous to a touchdown in American and Canadian football, with the major difference being that a try requires the ball be simultaneously touching the ground and an attacking player, whereas a touchdown merely requires that the ball enter the end zone while in the possession of a player. John Kear
John Kear (born 25 November 1954) is an English professional rugby league coach who is the head coach of the Widnes Vikings in the Betfred Championship and the Wales national rugby league team. He also works as a pundit for BBC Sport and is a former professional rugby league footballer.
