Aleksandar Marković (conductor)
Aleksandar Marković (born in Belgrade, August 7, 1975) is a Serbian conductor. Marković studied conducting at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst (Vienna), in the class of Leopold Hager. He earned a ''Diploma d'onore'' at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, where he attended a master class in conducting. He was a holder of the Herbert von Karajan Foundation's scholarship. In 2003, he won the First Prize at The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors (7th) in Katowice, Poland. Marković was a chief conductor of ''Tyrolean Opera House'' from Innsbruck, Austria (Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck), from 2005 to 2008. He was a Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra from 2009 to 2015. Petr Altrichter
Petr Altrichter (born May 24, 1951 in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech people, Czech conducting, conductor. He studied French horn and conducting at the Conservatory of Music in Ostrava. He also studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. He worked as an assistant conductor to Václav Neumann at the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. With the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Altrichter served as its principal guest conductor, and later principal conductor from 1990 to 1992. In Germany, he was Music Director of the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie from 1993 to 2004. In the UK, he was principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (RLPO) from 1997 to 2001. His RLPO tenure was marked by financial troubles which had begun before his tenure, in addition to criticism of his conducting style. The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors (Polish: ''Międzynarodowy Konkurs Dyrygentów im. Grzegorza Fitelberga'') is one of Poland's premier conducting competitions. Named in honour of Grzegorz Fitelberg (1879–1953), the competition was admitted as a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) based in Geneva IN 1980. The Grzegorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors was founded in 1979 by Karol Stryja, student of Fitelberg and director of the Silesian Philharmonic, who led all its editions until his death in 1998.
