Ale Möller
Arild Staffan Möller (born 26 March 1955), known professionally as Ale Möller, is a Swedish musician and composer. He was born and grew up in Scania in southern Sweden and started in music as a jazz trumpeter. He lived for a while in Greece where he learned to play the bouzouki and played with composer Mikis Theodorakis. Möller has been a member of Frifot, Stockholm Folk Big Band, Enteli, Filarfolket, Ale Möller's Lyckliga Enmansorkester, and Neo Minore. He has worked with Aly Bain, Bruce Molsky, Robin Williamson, Gunnar Stubseid, Lena Willemark, Per Gudmundson, Jonas Knutsson, Sten Källman, and Thomas Ringdahl. He plays traditional Scandinavian music. He is also a notable proponent of world music, combining Swedish folk traditions with those of Shetland, Greece, India, and West Africa. Scania
Scania, also known by its native name of Skåne (, ), is the southernmost of the historical provinces of Sweden, provinces (''landskap'') of Sweden. Gunnar Stubseid
Gunnar Stubseid (23 January 1948 – June 2024) was a Norwegian educator, ethnologist, folk musician, writer and magazine editor. Background Born in Bygland on 23 January 1948, Stubseid was educated at the Bergen Teacher Training College, and as ethnologist from the University of Bergen. Stubseid died in June 2024, at the age of 76. Musical career Playing the Hardanger fiddle, Stubseid played with the musical group , along with Kirsten Bråten Berg, and . The group published two albums, one of which was awarded the Spellemannprisen in 1979. He published the album in 2008. He edited the magazine from 1978 to 1988. His books include (1980), , and . Bouzouki Players
The bouzouki (, also ; el, μπουζούκι ; alt. pl. ''bouzoukia'', from Greek ), also spelled buzuki or buzuci, is a musical instrument popular in Greece. It is a member of the long-necked lute family, with a round body with a flat top and a long neck with a fretted fingerboard. It has steel strings and is played with a plectrum producing a sharp metallic sound, reminiscent of a mandolin but pitched lower. There are two main types of bouzouki: the ''trichordo'' (''three-course'') has three pairs of strings (known as courses) and the ''tetrachordo'' (''four-course'') has four pairs of strings. The instrument was brought to Greece in the early 1900s by Greek refugees from Anatolia, and quickly became the central instrument to the rebetiko genre and its music branches. Sofia Karlsson (born 25 March 1975 in Enskede, Sweden) is a Swedish folk singer. Biography Sofia Karlsson grew up in Enskede, Stockholm. She attended the folk music department of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. From 1998 to 2002 she was a full-time member in Swedish folk music act Groupa. In 2002 she released her debut solo album ''Folk songs''. In 2005 she made her public breakthrough with her second album '' Svarta ballader'' (Black Ballads). The album contains her interpretations of the Swedish poet Dan Andersson, named for his 1917 book. The album was in the charts for more than a year and has to date sold 60,000 copies. It was rewarded with Swedish as well as Danish Grammys. Bo Martin Erik Erikson (born 27 August 1965), better known by his stage name E-Type, is a Swedish eurodance musician, songwriter and record producer. His professional name is based on the Jaguar E-Type sports car. Biography Early years Erikson was born in Uppsala. His father is Bo ("Bosse") G. Erikson (b. 1933), known as the host of the science TV-show ''Vetenskapens Värld'' (World of Science) on Sveriges Television, SVT. Ulf Gerhard Lundell (born 20 November 1949) is a Sweden, Swedish writer, poet, songwriter, composer, musician and artist. He made his debut in 1975 with the LP ''Vargmåne'' and was immediately hailed as "Sweden's Bob Dylan".
