Alderstown School For The Deaf
The Alderstown School for the Deaf (founded in 1954) is a Special Basic Education Institution along Skinn Road in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria. It is a specialist primary school for children aged 4–12, or more who are deaf or have hearing and speech difficulties. Reconstruction During Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan's administration, the Delta State government embarked upon a reconstruction project in the school. The city of Warri is an oil hub within South-South Nigeria and houses an annex of the Delta State Government House. Warri City is one of the major hubs of the petroleum industry in Nigeria. Warri and her twin city, Uvwie are the commercial capital of Delta State with a population of over 311,970 people in 2006. The city is the indigenous territory of Urhobo, itsekiri and Ijaw people. Emmanuel Uduaghan
Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan (born 22 October 1954) was the Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015. He assumed office via an inconclusive election on 29 May 2007 and was a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). A medical doctor by profession, prior to becoming governor, he was the Commissioner for Health, Delta State and the Secretary to the State Government. Dr. Uduaghan ran again for governor in the 26 April 2011 elections, and was re-elected. Background Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan was born on 22 October 1954 in Warri North Local Government Area in Delta State of Itsekiri origin. He attended Federal Government College, Warri (1968–1974), and the University of Benin (1975–1980) earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree, and a Diploma in Anaesthesia.
