Albon-d'Ardèche
Albon-d'Ardèche (; oc, Aubon d'Ardecha) is a commune in the Ardèche department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of southern France. Geography ''Albon-d'Ardèche'' is located some 25 km west of Livron-sur-Drome and about 30 km east of Langogne. The commune is traversed by the D102 coming east from Mézilhac through the village and continuing east to Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut. The D211 also traverses the commune in the south running east from the D122 to Saint-Pierreville. ''Grand Feouzet'' in the south of the commune is accessed from this road via country roads. There is a considerable amount of forest in the commune and a little farming. The Glueyre river passes through the commune from west to east fed by a number of streams in the commune. The river passes through the village and continues east to join the Eyrieux river at Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut. Marcols-les-Eaux
Marcols-les-Eaux (; oc, Marcols) is a commune in the Ardèche department of southern France. History Known as Marcovolos during the 11th century and then Marcouls during the 12th century, the village became Saint-Julien-d'Ursival (first mentioned in 1573), Saint Julian the Hospitaller being the patron of the town. In 1790, the village is renamed Marcols by the revolutionaries willing to remove any references to the Catholic Church. In 1912, the town becomes Marcols-les-Eaux as many mineral water sources are found throughout the village. A source was exploited for bottled mineral water until the late 1950s. In 1912, 36% of the commune's territory are detached to form the new town of Albon-d'Ardèche. On 4 November 1943, an airplane of the British Royal Air Force, dropping guns and munitions to the local Resistance during the night, crashes against the Bourboulas pike, in Marcols-les-Eaux. 7 of the 8 crew members died. Eyrieux
The Eyrieux () is a tributary of the Rhône in the Ardèche department, France. The Eyrieux runs for . It begins in the Massif Central and joins the Rhône just downstream of Valence. The Eyrieux has at least three distinct landscapes. Above Le Cheylard, the plateau is marked by the sugarloaf cones of old volcanoes, and the land is used mostly for raising cattle and sheep. In its middle section, down to Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut and Les Ollières-sur-Eyrieux, the river is torrential and prone to flash floods and extreme variation. Formerly used for silk mills, it is now used for micro-hydroelectric production, and is a popular spot for canoeing. The river never dries up in summer, as the many dams and barrages maintain a steady flow. Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut (; Vivaro-Alpine: ''Sant Sauvador de Montagut'') is a commune of the Ardèche department in southern France. The rivers Eyrieux, Glueyre and Auzène flow through the town. Sights Ruins of an early-medieval castle (which was used as a watch tower/outpost) on one of the hills are the main historical remnant of what is one of France's most sparsely populated areas. Population Culture Protestantism is strong in the town, with the town having both a Protestant temple and a Roman Catholic church. Economy Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut had quite a large textile industry, but in modern times there are hardly any factories left.
