Albert Müller
Albert Müller (29 November 1897 Basel, Switzerland - 14 December 1926) was a Swiss Expressionist painter, glass artist, draftsman, graphic artist and sculptor. Life Müller was born in Basel in 1897. In 1917, he graduated as a glass painter from the general business school in Basel. In 1919, he received his first exhibition in the Kunsthalle Basel. In 1920, he traveled to Italy and worked with Niklaus Stoecklin in San Gimignano. In 1923, Müller became acquainted with the expressionist, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and his work. An intense artistic friendship arose. Niklaus Stoecklin
Niklaus Stoecklin (19 April 1896 – 1 December 1982) was a Swiss painter and graphic artist. He is regarded as a Swiss exponent of New Objectivity (''Neue Sachlichkeit'') and Magic Realism, and at least with his early works numbers among their international co-founders. He was also a poster designer of international renown. Early life and education Stoecklin was born in Basel as the son of businessman Johann Niklaus Stoecklin (1859–1923) and Genoveva Fanny Stoecklin, née Müller (1859–1939). Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (6 May 1880 – 15 June 1938) was a German expressionist painter and printmaker and one of the founders of the artists group Die Brücke or "The Bridge", a key group leading to the foundation of Expressionism in 20th-century art. Hermann Scherer
Hermann Scherer (8 February 1893– 13 May 1927) was a German-speaking Swiss Expressionist painter and sculptor. Life Hermann Scherer was born in Rümmingen, Baden-Württemberg in 1893. After leaving school in 1907, Scherer began an apprenticeship as a stonemason at the Schwab workshop in Lörrach. From 1910 to 1919 he worked as a stonemason with a series of Basel sculptors: Carl Gutknecht, Otto Roos and Carl Burckhardt. By working as a labourer and later assistant for Roos, he was able to pay for a small workshop. In 1919, Scherer took a new contemporary approach to art (and painting), and destroyed many of the works he had previously made. From 1921 to 1922 he was influenced by the work of the German painters Erich Heckel, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Paul Camenisch (7 November 1893 – 13 February 1970) was a Swiss expressionist painter, architect and illustrator. He was the founding member of the Rot-Blau group and Gruppe 33. Biography In 1912–16, he studied architecture at ETH Zurich under Karl Moser. He was influenced by the German expressionist painter Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Werner Neuhaus (1 November 1897, in Burgdorf, Switzerland, Burgdorf – 22 August 1934, in Lützelflüh) was a Swiss painter, printmaker and Drafter, draftsman.
