Albert Joseph Moore
Albert Joseph Moore (4 September 184125 September 1893) was an English painter, known for his depictions of languorous female figures set against the luxury and decadence of the classical world. Life Moore was born at York on 4 September 1841, the thirteenth son and fourteenth child of well known portrait-painter William Moore and his second wife, Sarah Collingham. Several of his numerous brothers were educated as artists, including John Collingham Moore and Henry Moore, R.A., the well-known sea painter. Albert Moore was educated at Archbishop Holgate's School, and also at St. Peter's School at York, receiving at the same time instruction in drawing and painting from his father. He made such progress that he gained a medal from the Department of Science and Art at Kensington in May 1853, before completing his twelfth year. Albert Moore (December 26, 1862 – September 14, 1916) was an American Private (rank)#United States, private serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Boxer Rebellion who received the Medal of Honor for bravery. Biography Moore was born December 26, 1862, in Merced, California and enlisted into the Marine Corps from Mare island, California January 18, 1898. After entering the marines he was sent to fight in the China, Chinese Boxer Rebellion. He received the Medal for his actions in Peking, China from July 21 – August 17, 1900, and it was presented to him July 19, 1901. He was discharged from the Marine Corps in San Francisco, California January 17, 1903, and died September 14, 1916. Medal of Honor citation Rank and organization: Private, U.S. Marine Corps. Albert Edward Moore (born 1863, date of death unknown) was an English footballer who played in The Football League for Notts County. Early career Albert Moore was born in the last quarter of 1863 and grew up in Nottingham in the East Midlands of England. He came to the attention of Notts County when he was in his late teens and signed for them during the Winter of 1881–1882. He made his debut in a friendly match against Sheffield on 6 February 1883. In the pre-Football League era Moore played 71 friendly matches, scoring 20 goals. He made his F.A. Cup debut on 24 January 1885 at The Chuckery, Walsall against Walsall Swifts. County won 4–1. In the pre-Football League era Moore played in 14 FA Cup ties scoring five goals, including a Hat-trick against Lincoln Ramblers on 15 October 1887. 1888–1889 season Albert Moore, playing as one of the two forward', made his League debut on 15 September 1888 at Anfield, the then home of Everton.
