Trevor Gorman
Trevor Gorman is the head coach of the Albany Great Danes men's soccer team; a position he has held since 2011. Prior to his position at Albany, he served as an assistant coach for the Wright State Raiders and Dartmouth Big Green. In 2016, the Great Danes won the America East Conference men's soccer championship for the first time, and qualified for the NCAA tournament. His father, Barry Gorman, is Penn State's most successful soccer coach. The 2016 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament (also known as the 2016 College Cup) was the 58th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I men's collegiate soccer. The first, second, third, and quarterfinal rounds were held at college campus sites across the United States during November and December 2016, with host sites determined by seeding and record. The four-team College Cup finals was played at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas on December 9 and 11, 2016. The Stanford Cardinal successfully defended their 2015 title. Stanford played the North Carolina Tar Heels to a scoreless draw in the semifinals before winning a penalty shootout, 10–9, to advance to the Championship game. 2017 Western Michigan Broncos Men's Soccer Team
The 2017 Western Michigan Broncos men's soccer team represented Western Michigan University during the 2017 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 47th season of the university fielding a program. It was the program's fifth season with Chad Wiseman as head coach. The Broncos played their home matches at WMU Soccer Complex. The 2017 season has been, by far, the most successful season in program history. The program won their first conference regular season title in their 47-year history, and posted the most victories in program history. The Broncos achieved their first ever United Soccer Coaches national ranking since 2003 and climbed into the Top 10 for the first time in their program's history. NCAA Division II
NCAA Division II (D-II) is the intermediate-level division of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It offers an alternative to both the larger and better-funded Division I and to the scholarship-free environment offered in Division III. Bob Ford Field at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium is a football stadium in Albany, New York, owned and operated by the University at Albany, SUNY and hosts the school's football team, as well as their men's soccer, women's soccer, and women's field hockey programs. NCAA Division III (D-III) is the lowest division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States.
