Alayunt Railway Station
Alayunt is a village in the Kütahya Province of Turkey. The village is situated about east of Kütahya Kütahya () (historically, Cotyaeum or Kotyaion, Ancient Greek, Greek: Κοτύαιον) is a city in western Turkey which lies on the Porsuk River, Porsuk river, at 969 metres above sea level. It is inhabited by some 578,640 people (2022 estimate) ..., the provincial capital. As of 2016, Alayunt has a population of 528, which is a slight increase from its 2015 population of 510. Alayunt is most known for the railway junction situated just south of the village. Alayunt railway station is serviced by ten daily trains and also consists of a small yard for freight trains. Apart from the railway station, the Kütahya Industrial Park (Kütahya OSB) is located southeast of the village. Kütahya Province
Kütahya Province ( tr, ) is a province in the Aegean region of Turkey. It is 11,875 km in size, and the population is 571,554 (2014). In 1990, Kütahya had a population of 578,000. Muhtar (title)
A muhtar is the elected village head in villages of Turkey. In cities, likewise, each neighbourhood has a muhtar but with a slightly different status. Muhtars and their village councils ( tr, Azalar or İhtiyar heyeti) are elected during local elections for five years. However, political parties are not permitted to nominate candidates for these posts. Rural muhtars In each village, the muhtar is the highest elected authority of the village.
