Alan Wilson (rugby League)
Alan Wilson (born 25 September 1967) is an Australian former rugby league footballer. The son of Australian Kangaroos player, Graham Wilson. Playing career Wilson was named Dally M rookie of the year in 1987. He played seven seasons for the Cronulla Sharks and is the 5th highest pointscorer for the club. After not being re-signed by the Sharks at the end of 1991, he moved to his brother Craig's club the North Sydney Bears. Alan won a Reserve Grade premiership with the Bears in 1992 before returned to Cronulla. Wilson could and did play every position. He also went on to represent NSW in State of Origin. Post playing Wilson recently returned to Australia after two years as Technical Advisor with Super League club St. Helens. Before that he spent a year in the NRL marketing department and was the brains behind the highly successful "That's my Team" campaign. Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks
The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire, Southern Sydney, New South Wales. They compete in the National Rugby League (NRL), Australasia's premier rugby league competition. The Sharks, as they are commonly known, were admitted to the New South Wales Rugby League premiership, predecessor of the Australian Rugby League and the current National Rugby League competition, in January 1967. The club competed in every premiership season since then and, during the Super League war, joined the rebel competition before continuing on in the re-united NRL Premiership. Brian Smith (born 14 March 1954) is an Australian rugby league coach and former player. He was also the Football Manager for the New Zealand Warriors. Life and career Career Smith played for St. George 1973-74 and South Sydney Rabbitohs (1975-1976 and 1979), appearing in a total of 31 first grade games. However, Smith is best known as a coach, having been at the helm of Illawarra Steelers, where he took over for the 1984 season, before moving to Hull FC, St. George Dragons, Bradford Bulls, Parramatta Eels, the Newcastle Knights and, most recently, at the Sydney Roosters and the NSW Country side. Parramatta Eels
The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). As of 2019, Parramatta's home ground stadium has been rebuilt and they now play as the co-tenants at Western Sydney Stadium, which sits on the same site that was once Parramatta Stadium. It took thirty years for the club to make the grand final, which they did in 1976 and 1977, losing on both occasions. However, this period foreshadowed their most successful period in the early 1980s, when they won four premierships and qualified for five grand finals in six seasons.
